Goodlooking, young American guy coming to BA for the first time. Would love to hook up with guys in semi-public places, clubs, cinemas, etc. Any tips? Anyone else gonna be down there in mid-August looking for same?

Great to hear you´ll be here. There´s a sauna called "A full" on Viamonte st. close to Callao Ave about 8 blocks from the obelisc.
Half a block from the obelisc, on Diagonal Saenz Pena there´s Hall cinema, two movies, straight and gay, bathroom action, escorts also coming and going ( be careful but enjoy, from $10 pesos to whatever you wish ), the entrance ticket is pesos 10 and it includes a horrible juice....you decide how courageous you are....

I, too, am coming to Buenos Aires in late November for two weeks, and was wondering if anyone had any tips about a gay-friendly hotel to stay at. I am looking for something in the moderate to moderately low price range...nothing expensive and frilly with services I won't use, but not a hostel either. If anyone has any information about this, I would like to know your thoughts. Also, is it worth my time to go to some of the other cities such as Cordoba? Any tips appreciated.

I just stayed at a gay-friendly apartment with 5 rooms for rent, kind of staying at a friend´s home, cute but not fancy, check it out at republicasantelmo@hotmail.com or www.republicasantelmo.com.ar ( or try without the ar, ok?)
They charged me $50 single bed room, divide that price per 3 and you have the usdollar value, less than 20 bucks.
The guy speaks English, Agustin is his name.

I am older bear. I will be in Buenos Aires starting Sunday 14 August. I will have some time in evenings and on the 14th and 21st. I would like to meet someone to talk with, have a beer/wine/coffee, maybe more.

I was in BA the first week of August, and went to Tom's, a cruising space, twice. I am not a late-night person, and BA's clubs don't get going until about 3AM, open till 8AM! Dinner is often at 11pm, then drinks somewhere at 1AM, then out to dance.
I was jetlagged after a trip from BKK, so I just went to Tom's after sightseeing for the day, maybe 4-8pm. There was usually about 40 guys there, with several booths with gloryholes, a dark room, and also a basement play space. Lots of fun. The "average" guy there is probably about 35yo, with lots of 25yo and lots of 45yo too. I got fucked 2x each night, and sucked at least 4 dicks each time too. I'll go back again.
Also can recommend using Gay.com's chat, which I could access in my hotel (Howard Johnson Plaza Florida Street), actually a 2-block walk to Tom's, near tourist areas, also near subway. US$80 per night, but apparently BA travel agents can get substantial discounts.

Thanks, midwestbttmboy32. I am in BA now and have walked around a bit. I am probably staying in the area where Tom's is. Would you please give me a street address. I am here on business and prefer to be discrete about my sexual preferences. I am in a profession, engineer, that is not very gay friendly.

the address of Tom's is Viamonte 638.
There is no sign outside; it's just down a set of stairs. If you walk down Viamonte, the stairs are exactly where Building #638 would be. Just go down the stairs, through the door, and you can see the sign for Tom's. I think it's about 1/2 block from Florida Street, the main pedestrian area.

It costs only A$10 (US$3.25) to enter and you can stay as long as you want. Plenty of discreet married guys there I think, plus some twinks like me to take care of them.

I was in BA in September of this year; while I was there, I stayed at the HowardJohnson DaVinci after being informed that the HJFlorida did not care to cater to gay visitors. A friend of mine stayed at the latter hotel and did not have any perceived probs based on prior info.

My hotel is centrally located, and I paid US$60 per night which is a special rate I received from Daniel Porce, a former employee at the HJFlorida and who I think now work for the DaVinci.

I'd stay there if I were you. I enjoyed my stay although I did not care for the breakfast. Next time I'll stay there and eat some breakfasts out.

I know this thread is old, but I wondered if there were any more ideas on where to go. I am not sure if I could put up with those late hours mention before. I could not when I was much younger, but now I stay up all night and sleep in the day, (not by choice, just bad sleeping habit).

There was mention of "Tom's" is that still open.

I am not at all youngl, but look pretty good for may age. Is that going to be a problem in a city where looks are so important?

To complicate things I am Bi and TG meaning I have lots of interests. I particularly want to to go to strip clubs (m or f) and drag shows, if there are any.

I was at Tom's one Saturday night and the action was hot, specially in the dark area in the back.

I liked the cubicles with the plastic windows. You can choose to either watch a guy sucking you or not.

But the dark area was my favorite. At one point when guys wanted to go home, I just took off my pants and got on my fours on a bench in some dark corner. and took load after load. It was hot! The walk back to the hotel was hot feeling Argentinian cum running down my legs.

I was not impressed with a sauna I went to. I was expecting more from a city like Buenos Aires.
