How much to pay a MB...

I know that this has been a frequent issue here, but not recently - so;
In Pattaya I usually pay min 1000 and max 1500 thb for shorttime (1-3 hours). And, if the off-fee is more than 300 I start negotiations.
In BKK usally a little more (but not much).
It is not much money for us but I see it as a balance between destroying the market-price and being greedy.
Provided the boy is nice and speaks good english I, apart from the direct payment, often invite the boy to a meal - but that does not influence how much to pay.
If a boy is too anxious to go home or back to bar it may result in me being more "tight-fisted" (dont mis-understand that expression, please)
So - how much do you guys usually pay?
Ron

Yes I'd agree with your numbers - however, in Pattaya last year Romeo boys might jump at even 500bt, and be very happy with 1,000 - I'm now getting the feeling that 1,000 for a bar boy is seen as quite "frugal" and expectations are creeping up, especially for over-nights. Meals are certainly appreciated, but don't detract from the need for cash to pay the rent!

I think 1,200 to 1,500 will soon become the minimum expected for short time, and 1,500 to 2,000 for single over-nights.

Romeo boys can work out cheaper when you take into account drinks, boy drinks and the off fee in the bar or gogo. On the other hand you have the opportunity to appraise the boy in the bar.
I always pay well for quality and when I have had a good time. 2000 plus over night in Pattaya would not be unusual for me to pay for a very cute sexy boy. Presents for the boy can also boost the cost.
When you have paid for the air ticket and your living costs the "boy cost" is not a huge price.

Thks for your comments guys

Good to know that I am an average payer. Not driving market-price up and not being too greedy.
Regarding boys from GayRomeo I am a little careful. Many have little in common with descibtion and the photos they show. When meeting irl it is a bit difficult to turn them down when they turn up, being much older or heavier than expected. But when difference was obvious, I have done so

As most of them seem to be located in South Pattaya, I sometimes suggest meeting them at Tuk Com so I can size them up before driving back to the condo. I have rejected quite a few that way with 200bt as a "sorry".

That's a good point your making Biggles about first meeting Romeo boys at Tukcom to appraise them before taking them to your room. I have done that several times when I was staying in Sunee with only a short walk involved.
I have no problem in turning them down when they have posted a false picture of someone else or one of themselves taken years ago.
Once in your room it can be difficult to get rid of them without the risk of unpleasantness.

You can also ask the boy for a quick video chat on Skype to check the freshness of the merchandise.
