SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER
yesterday went to State cinema. More customers than on other visits. Very aggressive guys (HINT) at the rear of cinema. A three or foursome, too much for me, but I could not get out from their clutches. WAKE UP When I did get out after feeling caught, I checked my bag-mobile gone! On the good side, they missed my passport and 7,000 baht in cash. The 3 guys were different from ones I have seen before and were not in a group on the other side of the cinema. They ran off. After all these years, my stupidity got the best of me. Lucky something worse did not happen. Will not go for a while and if I do then I will have money in shoes and no bag.

A good reminder that you should never take valuables into these places. Besides the risk of them going missing, you'll spend too much time worrying about them rather than enjoying yourself.

Some interesting developments at the Hawaii.

About half of the seats have been removed. This might usually be a sign that the theater was soon to become defunct, but in this case the remaining chairs have been reupholstered. There have also been new a/c units and fans installed, so it looks like that is not the case.

Even more interestingly, they've installed two sex booths in the restroom. They are just lockable booths, equipped with fans and wastebaskets.

They were being well-used on this past Sunday afternoon. Now, if they'd just put some low stools in there for us cocksuckers with bad knees...

walking up the stairs after u pass the "ticket collector" stairs go further up - to higher floors - these stairs were first semi-locked with iron gated doors - u could go inside on this floor next to the projector room there was a stuffy small room where u could take someone or more for private sessions Next to the toilets there was an entrance to some (illegal?) apartments - anyhow people lived there- now this entrance is also blocked .

This thread is a bit difficult to follow, as information about various suck cinemas is grouped together. I know of four:

one in Saphan Kwai close to 39 underground sauna (have been once, last year),
one in Klong Toey, name Laem Tong (have been once, 3 years ago),
one near Wongwian Yai (not been),
one far out on Sukhumvit (State) (not been)

From my two visits I can say it's not so much my scene, but always curious, so I intend to visit all suck cinemas in Bangkok that are known to mankind and report details in a an easy to read format. When is the best time to go? The two I went to seem to close around 9 pm.

I'd say the happiest hunting for at all of the places is on the weekends, late afternoon/early evening. Say, 4pm to 7pm.

There is supposed also one to be in Bang Khae-also an old dilapidated ciname, along Phetkasem rd.
The one near WWyai is the one pictured just above - renovated, name is Hawaii (does not rhyme with Kawa-ii), labelled only in Thai.

Has anyone been to the PaholYothin one recently? Now with the curfews the afternoons at the cinemas look like a better option than staying out late at DJ or gogo bars. l've got 2 weeks in BKK in late July.

Have enjoyed a few meetings with non money boys. Difficult to see in the dark and live in fear of falling down the stairs and breaking my neck. Then I would be like those guys in towels who had to climb down the fire when gsm sauna burnt down with tv and newspapers there to catch escaping farang. The guys I met recently at the cinema chuckled at the thought of being money.they were in early 30s and spoke reasonable english and were not there just to be serviced. They made me think of continuing to go when the darkness and steps had me doubting. Last time I did not go there until after 6pm
