and thanks Sexy-for doing more research and listing this other Paradise. But it simply cannot be opposite soi 24 on RKHg road-that is soi 29-and I right now sit there. Will visit the sauna on soi 24 later, maybe , or hope to.
as above;using the BTS Sapan Kwai to walk to Sapan Mai-well good luck-you'll arrive next day (its about 20/25 kms.)

-- For PARADISE SAUNA, 69/17, Soi R'haeng. 71., the map wch. I down-loaded and used as a ref. shews it to be roughly opp. to R'haeng. 24/1..
- source: >Big Map of Paradise Sauna, Bangkok · gayScout gayGuide 2010

-- But I do realize that the man-on-the-ground is often MORE reliable than the remote one who looks-at maps etc. etc..

You are all correct. Soi 29 is opposite soi 24 and soi 71 is opposite soi 24/1. Soi 24 and soi 24/1 are 1.75 kms apart...the entire Hua Mark Stadium and Ramkhamhaeng University are in between soi 24 and soi 24/1.
Now what would be interesting would be a report on Torpedo Sauna which is on soi Thawonthawat 1, just after it branches off soi 24. I went a few years ago but cannot remember much about it.

2.- This site also lists another unknown; GURU-near the Mall Ngam Wong Wan, not too far from that Paradise.
Can get there with expresswaybus 522 from the Vict. Monument-get off 2nd stop after a long freewayride. This bus continues on via Sapan Mai to Rangsit.

-- Khun Pong,
- Thanks for yr. corr'ns. etc. etc. - appreciated by all of us, I'm sure.

1.- My BKK. City Atlas., (5th.. edn.), makes no mention of a road named SAPAN MAI; but it does shew a SM. Post Office, wch. is between Tnn. Phahon Yothin sois 48. & 50., and also a projected rd. running-away to the EbyS. in that area.
- The a/m. Atlas shews the BIG C - SM. to be on Phahon Yothin soi 50..
- Tnn. PY. runs in a NE./SW. dir'n. on the E. side of DON MUEANG AIRPORT.

2.- I asked my Thai boi-friend, (his English is ltd!), to translate the rds'. etc. names for GURU. -
2.1.- At the point where Tnn. Chaeng Wattana changes name to Tnn. Ratchapruek there is a fly-over with Tnn. Tiwanon*, (T'non. changes dir'n. from NW./SE. to NE./SW. at that point.),;
2.1.1.* - Google Earth co-ords.: roughly 100-30-15.E.x13-54-27.N.;
2.2- From the a/m. i'sect. proceed NE. along Tnn. T'non., (distance neither given nor known.), until on yr. RHS. you'll see HOT VIDEO SHOP and, across the soi, BANG MANG SA,(?);
2.3.- Turn RIGHT and walk along that soi and there'll be GURU at the end.

-- My copy of the BKK. 'BUS. MAP. , (version E5.), shews 'buses. 166. & 505. go as far as the a/m. i'sect., (2.1.),. There may well be MORE 'buses.?
- River ferry pier #33. - PAK KRET, by RAMA IV. BR., ('New Br.', according to Google Earth.) - is approx. 1M. to the WEST of the a/m. i'sect..

I can help you-just after what I wrote-in this same shop on soi 29-I ate at BigC foodcourt and went to Torpedo-easy to find-a little long walk (or take red songhthaew-it wont save any time in the jams) to T-juntion on soi 24-easy to spot. Entry 139 bt-99 bfeore 18.00. A bit rundown, but I really had a great time. Bumped into 2 couples of what turned out to Thai soldiers on leave and doing exercise in the gym-very, very shy at the start, but the free booze (its a free help yourself small bar-there even was rice+some curry) helped them loosen a bit. wow. oho.
I had expected more student types-but that was hardly so (young age to 23/24 gets discount on entry). Not too many patrons- but not very sticky. Of course-its like a lotteree-you never know what you win-or loose.

Sorry-I simply assume that people know BKK and all its khets=district. Sapan (=bridge) Mai (this is new, may also mean silk)-compare Sapan Kwai=buffalo bridge, is not a road but a district, east of Don Muang. The main road running there is indeed Phahonyotin. In proper Thai you should use always use names like ''khet'' or ''thanon=road/street'' but we never do that.
Along that main road in Sapan Mai one can use buses like the 34, 522, 39, 185, 543.
34,39 start/pass the Vict. Monument and Mochit/Chatuchak-then it takes hours in enormous jams. the 522 goes on the Exprway from the Vict Mon-0comes off at Mall /Ngam Wiong wan (passes by all the jams) and then joins the other routes.
I think for me its too far for just trying it out.

GURU
is not opposite, but quite near the MALL Ngam Wong Wan. Its off Tiwanon road, that is the road running north from Nonthaburi toward Khae lai and Pak kred. Buses like the 51, 505, 32, 33 (NOT 166!!) pass there.
The mentioned as new and far away massage/spa named 88 is fairly close by in soi Rewadee. find directions via gthai.net.
In this area is also giant new development and condo's and various replaced govmt. ministries. That may make for much more potential custom there.

Cruising Sauna I

I checked out Cruising Sauna I about 2 weeks ago--I think it was a Thursday evening. 1448/6-7 Phahonyothin Rd. (on other side of the main road from Major Cineplex Ratchayothin shopping mall), phone 02-930-3538 (it is a very short distance down a wide soi (square)--which soi (square) is just north of a cross-over bridge)--you go down the soi a short distance, and sauna is on your right). It seems to be a local sauna. Interestingly, I saw signs for a naval training center nearby. I think it's 6 floors. There are at least two hidden maze areas (it took me a while to discover them). I had limited action with a masculine, built, Thai around 35. What was weird about this place is very few people were connecting--it was like they were all terrified of being seen connecting with anyone else. I never saw people so secretive about going into a room with someone else. I was the only farang, and it seems this place is Thai-for-Thai (and younger at that).

A farang recommended this place to me--but I think he just went there on weekends. He said they have all-nude days (which is when he went).

I took skytrain to Mo Chit and then made the mistake of taking a taxi (it was gridlock even after 6:30). I paid the taxi driver, hopped out, and took a motorcycle taxi which was a lot faster. I couldn't find the sauna, and the motorcycle boys I talked with didn't know about it. I had one use my phone to call the sauna, and, greatfully, I paid him to take me there (he still had some difficulty finding it).

You can also take MRT to Phahol yothin or even Lad Phrao, and then proceed north. Major Cineplex is near Elephant Tower. From Lad Phroa, you will have less traffic if you go north on Ratchadephisek Rd. (which winds over to Phahonyothin Rd.), or you can go from Mo Chit (BRT stop) or Phaholyothin (MRT stop) and go north on Phaholyothin Rd.

On my first trip to Bangkok in 2001, my Thai friend took me to a suana, and I'd like to know what suana that was (I don't know the name or even where it is/was). If any of you can identify it, please post.

I think it was generally in the nothern part of Bangkok, on a main road (that is, not down some little soi). It was maybe 5 floors. One walked in, and the clerk was on the right--in a small entrance area. In front, there was a bar/restaurant. One entered the sauna on the left side of the entrance area. There was a little waiting area in the entrance--with at least a bench. I vaguely remember the shower had green tiles, and it was nude night (no towels allowed). There was a maze area in the middle of one of the floors. There were at least two porno "cinema" rooms on the perimeter of one of the floors. It seemed like an older place (nothing modern about it).

This place must have been distinctive--I've never seen any other sauna that had bar/restaurant area right at the entrance.

I was amazed at how many guys I briefly connected with the short time I was there. I also noticed that a lot of guys had alcohol on their breath.

It is NOT any of these saunas: Babylon, Chakran, Farose I, Farose II, Beach, Mania, Heaven, Underground 39, Cruising I, K-Place (now closed), GSM (temporarily closed), 69 Sauna (newer), or Style (new).

-- Could it be the long defunct OBELISK?
- Off-hand I can't recall all that many other multi-storey saunas.

Went there last week on a weekday from 6 to 8pm. There were about 6 customers wandering around; no spring chickens or gym bunnies were seen, 2 of them were mature farangs, and the rest were Asians, at least 1 was non-Thai (me).

The place is very stylish, very 1980's NY style with a lot of bare concrete and industrial materials, even has streetlamps on the 2nd floor. Chatted with the owner and designer of the place, the sauna is not completely furnished yet.

The admission charge was B150 with a free admission coupon for the next time. To me, the place is safe and conveniently located, a perfect short time hotel to have fun with the rough trades from Rama IV and Lumpini. Furthermore, if the rough trade does not deliver, one could stay on and look for another trick among the customers :-)
