I feel like starting a few new threads, and this is another attempt.
Outside of the big, popular cities with established scenes (Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiangmai), which towns have you had really wild sexual romps in?
For me, I'd rate Phitsanulok at the top. Actually, the P-Lok stuff happened the better part of a decade ago, but I scored well on 3 separate trips. Some very wild young men in that town. Most of them I found at a local host bar called Bahn Peuen (Friend's House), that I think is now closed. Another time I met a guy online and he turned out to be fun.
Anyway, share your experiences. I wouldn't mind another road trip this year.

I do not have any tales to tell on this subject but I do have an observation to make. I was called upon to be in Khon Khaen (ขอนแก่น) a few weekends ago. I did not get up to anything, unfortunately, but I must say that, on average, the young men on that town were to my taste. Slightly on the rough side, handsome, rugged, masculine. My head was turning hither and thither, much like the affiliations of most Thai politicians. I was sure that I would need to consult a good physiotherapist upon my return to Bangkok. I'm sure if one was brave enough, much fun could be had in most towns in Thailand.

Photharam is emerging as a gay oasis just one hour north of Bkk. Just about an hours drive north of Bkk along route 4 there are two gay resorts developing side by side. Both are gay owned and gay staffed. Ruen Rachapreuk currently has 10 rooms and are building more rooms. Located at the back of temple grounds and on the banks of the Maekong river. Local lads hang at the resorts and are available charging a max of 500 baht. This was originally reported on Sawatdee forum.

I remember that river now. it has the "bridge on the river Kwai" further upstream and comes out just down the coast from Bangkok towards Hua Hin. I took a train from Wong Wien Yai (Taksin statue circle across the river in Thonburi) to Mahachai (Samut Sakhon), crossed anothe river and took the train again for another hour to Samut Songkhran at the mouth of the Mae Klong. The train runs on isolated routes not connected to the main system and costs Bht10 for each leg of the journey. The legs take 1 hour each. Makes a great day out and very fine fish restaurant at Mahachai(half way point) market with one or two cute waiters. Mostly market people and school kids on the train.

Photharam is actualy west of Bangkok on the Phetkassem road route to Hua Hin.
From Fattman's directions on Dragoncastle, the resorts are probably at 13 41 59.85N and 99 50 51.83E on Google Earth. The brothel mentioned also by Fattman is probably at 13 41 41N and 99 51 48E but is hidden/sensored? by cloud on Google!!

Boys Boys Bar near the Bus Station is still there with a very good selection of boys - at least three weeks ago.
As for the Antz Bar, I could not find it despite the details I had gathered from the TMM website ; however I saw a bar called "Lady Boy" in the same area but could not determine if this was a place for us or not, as I went there in the late afternoon (and a gorgeous lad from Boys Boys had hooked me for the rest of my one-day stay in Udon, so could not return for a check in the evening).
There is definitely no boys bar in the new entertainment plazas that have recently opened near the railway station.

Does anyone know of any cruising / massage / off / sauna / fun opportunities in lower Isan? Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and environs? Was thinking of making a trek to Khao Phra Viharn now that it has reopened.

bisnis as in KnKn/Udorn-like sauna, dedicated host-bars etc; forget it. cruising: of course, a lot. Locals dont have much money-and if-wont spend that on what they see as unnnecessary expense. But many boys who see the opportunity have already vanished to BKK/PTY etc anyway from there-as any visit must have shown you.
I dont travel that often anymore-once you have seen it you have seen most of it-and 95% of those friendly locals are to be found somewhere in BKK anyway-but I can still surprise newly found friends from there in BKk by telling-and proving with some details-Ive been there-on my own, whithout a friend etc.
O-if you go there-it will be assumed you speak Thai and have some girl/buyfriend or even wife there-who would come there otherwise?
The ''best''city for commercial sex out of the farang-four is HaadYai-mainly aiming at the nearby malays-but have not been there either long time and dont know how the southern troubles have affected it.
With ever increasing tourist nrs-and hence an unavoidable ''pattaya-isering'' Samui-and I bet next Krabi will follow suit in the commercial sector.

As out of the question as commercial gay sex venues in these type of locations may have been in the past, the situation is definitely changing. Witness the scene in Ratchaburi, a go-go bar in Ubon (now closed, apparently), saunas in Khon Kaen and Ubon, and whispers of similar meeting spots popping up in other far-flung places.

I found one net mention of alleged off bar in Buriram, but have so far not been able to dig up any details.

Of course, I know that sex in any province in Thailand is only as far as the nearest shopping mall or park.
