Can not imagine what it was like to be gay without an internet. When younger I connected with alot of older men who were really generous and helpful in mentoring me and showing me the ropes. Now I tend to connect with guys more my age ( mid 30's) and older. Really helps tho to live a big city to make connecting easier.
