Monday April 23 Update
 

Right now, a little before 7 pm CDT, the Sex Listings are still down. I have a tech support person who has helped with the new servers looking at it.

There had been a number of other issues before parts of the site crashed:

• The Search page still was not working
• Some of the pages' layout was rendering incorrectly, showing bits of the back-end code or other HTML that shouldn't be there - long description, longer reasons why
• The page to "Suggest a New Place" for the Sex Listings is not working
• The "toolbar" - the black bar with a teeny-tiny menu at the bottom of CFS pages -- does not always appear
• Some have said that the site is slow or that they have problems with Registration (more than usual)

I'm sure there are other things that will come up. My #1 priority right now is to bring the Sex Listings back up, make sure the pages are readable, fix the Search function, then move on to the other issues.

If there's anything else, please reply here. I'll be sure to see it.

The Message Board was down briefly earlier this evening. All came back up, except for the Message Board main page. You can still use, for example, the Today's Posts or New Posts links -- you get one or the other in the menu bar near the top of the Message Board depending on whether or not you are logged in.

You can still reach individual sections such as USA, Canada, this Announcements section, and others.

Also, although it's easy to miss there's a Forum Jump just below the "Quick Reply" box that you can use to go from one section to another.

All of this is maddening, especially when I thought most of the site was working on the new servers -- and then it starts acting up.

More work awaits tomorrow. I am exhausted...

I have had the issue with the tool bar at the bottom of the page. It seems to be there more often than not now (at first it was totally missing) but now if it is not "always" there it mostly there...

It looks like what we'll be doing this afternoon is deleting the Sex Listings entirely and then recreating it from backups of the data and files. This will take awhile. My tech support guy is wonderful, but it will take awhile.

And the Message Board main page is back now. Small victories! :)

Here's where we are to end the evening of Tuesday, April 24. My tech guy wiped the Sex Listings server and recreated it as a blank, fresh server.

I have restored the database for the Sex Listings this evening. I've also been working with the files from a backup of the Sex Listings to make adjustments for the new server environment. This includes things like making changes to the secure 'https' web addresses as well as other changes for the file structure and so on.

I'm not quite done with these adjustments yet. I resume the work Wednesday morning and upload the files that wil bring back the Sex Listings, although some pages will still need corrections.

That's all I can do for tonight. Hope you all are hanging in there.

Most things seem to be working fine now -

The toolbar on the bottom is back for most pages - although it is not there when I am in my control panel - that seems to be the only place it is missing now.

Thanks. I'll add that to my list.

The other big thing is setting up and testing new software to replace what we'd been using to send out email Newsletters and promos. I'd like to be able to send out a Newsletter at least once a month.

A newsletter would be great - act as a reminder and maybe some of the guys who used to post more often will start logging on more regularly...

I think I've got the toolbar on the control panel pages working now.

I'll be testing the Newsletter software this afternoon.
