SRI LANKA - cruising ...
 

-- Today, (02 mar.), our Kaffeeklatsch was joined by an elderly & American acquaintance of one of our other members, who - or so he claims - has lived-in SRI LANKA, (aka. CEYLON or Serendip.), for the last thirty or so yrs.;
- I enquired about cruising in gen'l.?
- The considered reply was that it is VERY MUCH AYOR. as there are many heroin-addicts etc. etc. on the loose; the better bet is to pick-up some young man whom you see is working gainfully in a rest't., shop or similar;
- There are the equivalents of short time or of love hotels avail. for around USD.05.oo. a session;
-- The only cruising place in COLOMBO is the Atrium in UNITY PLAZA., wch. is notorious as the young men there are all money-boyz whose MINIMUM asking price is $60.oo. - but you'll be v. lucky to get-away with under $100.oo.!
- But be advised the Sec. Gds. are v. unfriendly, especially to those seen talking with known money-boyz!

-- Never ever take-out with you any more money than you're prepared to lose as robberies are not uncommon.

-- In short, right now, you'd be well-advised to give SRI LANKA a miss, especially as male h'sexual. behaviour, whether in public or in private, is still illegal, (a relic from the days of the oppressive & British colonialists. Reportedly the local Gay Rights' mvt. tried to get it decriminalised but only succeeded in adding Lesbianism to being illegal!),;
- The current joke is that the next time that the gay rights' mvt. tries to get the h'sexual life-style decrimininalised all that it'll succeed in doing will be getting h'sexual. behavior ADDED to the death penalty!

Sri Lanka can be fabulous - I have had wonderful holidays in Negombo. Just make sure you are staying in a gay-friendly guesthouse.

-- In Dec. 2009. my Elderly, WYSIWYG. & American Friend visited NEGOMBO; he was shewn two GHs. that were allegedly gay-friendly. He told me that one was CLOSED and that the other, judging from its atmosphere and those there, was sub-std., below even that of a well-known hotel on BKK's Suriwong rd.! :-(
