Don't get caught in LA with your pants down

Actor Fred Willard arrested for lewd conduct in LA | Reuters

I just don't understand it. Everyone know what those places are for - why are they surprised?

It should be that by entering you accept you might see activity going on -

And I wonder if the cops went after the guys with drugs or just arrested Fred Willard....

Hard truth about privacy

Simply put, public decency laws do not end at the door of a business. Our ABS in Troy, NY was closed, and remains closed after three years of legal fighting, because customers engaged in sexual acts in the video arcade area without closing the doors to their booths. One of the ABS in Syracuse was the scene of several arrests of customers for public acts.

No matter where you are; if you are engaged in any sexual activity where others may unwilllingly observe you, you can be arrested by a police officer or even a "concerned citizen".

If a cop or "concerned citizen" makes an arrest for public indecency in a theatre or ABS, the business has only two choices; go along with the charges or close their doors.

I get the legal reason - it just seems stupid (although a lot of laws do). I wonder if they could set up a theater / ABS under the same rules as a bath house.

Jonn3, it depends on the local. Here in NY state, it is illegal to build any structure, room or booth to facilitate sexual activity. Of course, if the booth is built with purpose of showing movies or a small room set aside as a dressing room in a "gym"; it has a purpose separate from sexual activity. And it also depends on what law enforcement agency you are under. Some are more tolerant than others, or some can be pur$uaded to look the other way.

Why would reasonably successful guy risk his career, and consequently his good living by being this daft?

Kewl -

THAT is the question everyone keeps asking!

So easy to watch it at home if that is what you are looking for - so obviously he wanted the communal experience - but at his age and being a public figure you would think he could control it!

I guess, I was trying to ask, why would an apparently successful guy NOT use his dough to get his jollies off? There are tons of guys out there who will be happy to do it for some cash, AND keep quiet about it. Sure, there is always some risk associated with it. Probably, a lesser risk though than hitting a public venue.

The thrill of the communal spirit goes back in our youth. Ever engage in a circle jerk or swap jack off stories on a camping trip? Same thrill. Plus the exhibitionists in us all needs to be expressed.

I loved those days as a kid - but from the younger guys I talk to I don't think that is as common anymore. These days they all have porn right on their own computer - when I was a kid if one guy had a magazine or a porn video you usually could not borrow it - but maybe you would watch it together.... Now they just watch alone at home.

The things have mightily changed...

We all know the theaters, the arcades, and yeah, sharing a VHS vid with your friend(s).

We also remember the dawn of the new age. Unlimited net access via modem and aol.com for $19.90 a month.

We also remember the days of gaydar and romeo, and all the similar sites.

We are now talking Grindr, Scruff and what not?

Who wouldn't want to take a trip down the memory lane?

The truth is that you've got to change and adapt in order to remain at the top of the game...

Well it has happened again -

I guess the guys never learn....

"Nick Stahl, the actor who starred as John Connor in "Terminator 3," was arrested Thursday in a Hollywood adult movie shop on suspicion of lewd conduct."

I wonder which shop it was?
