gyms near larchmont, mid-wilshire

Hey, can somebody give me an objective recommendation for what gym to join in the area? Trim but not ripped, and pretty much a beginner. Is there a place with all shapes and sizes, not just ripped 20somethings, but still has a cruisy shower or steam room? Suggestions welcome.
