I've been a member on here for quite some time and am just the occasional hook up guy. It seems since Craigslist started this site has lost all its good threads... Lets fix that! This used to be the best place to find guys just looking to have some fun. Chicago land lets start posting here and get this thing going! No useless emails about stats it's all right in our profiles.

I rarely come to the site - but not because of craigslist, but because the site has become unbearable to use and needs a radical makeover. Search is awful, ads are irrelevant, no sense of community or fun. Why stay? I wish it were different, too.

Thanks for your feedback. The heart of the CFS web site has always been the Sex Listings. We've seen the Message Board usage decline for several years. Part of that is due not just to Craigslist but also to the changing nature of the Internet, social media, mobile apps, and all the other ways that gay men have to find each other. Many of the sites that started around the time we did in the 1990s have shut down or turned off their Message Boards simply because they became less relevant to their users. We still encourage you to use our Message Board as an adjunct to the Sex Listings: See a place where you want to hook up? Post a message about it here. We do believe that the Sex Listings still provide a unique source of information and a place for you to share your opinions of cruisy places.

Beyond that, I think most of you guys are aware that Cruisemaster Keith had passed away in September, 2012. The CFS web sites are still on auto-pilot or "cruise control" with me serving as manager/editor on behalf of the estate. However, no significant changes to the sites' design and function can be made until matters are settled under future ownership.

Prior to Keith's death, he and I had planned to introduce a mobile-friendly version of the site with geolocation features to help you find places and people close to where you are. I still hope that can be accomplished after the estate is settled, although I expect that many of those initial ideas will need to be simplified.

I can also assure you that if CFS continues as a free site then it will absolutely have to rely on advertising, even if it seems burdensome or irrelevant to some. All online media -- not just adult and porn sites -- are facing this challenge. Many of them are turning toward a subscription model for at least some of their content. It is possible that a future owner for CFS would implement paid premium memberships which offered fewer or no ads or other premium features. None of these decisions can be made now.

What I do ask, for now, is your patience. Stick with us and see what happens. I hope the future will be brighter and that we'll all be having fun together again soon.
