Illini Video Champaign
 

Illini Video on Springfield just east of the RR in Champaign has been remodeled out of all recognition. I understand the major player in Chicago ABS's has taken over. They now have a regular VGR Systems arcade but I didn't have time to check it out. Has anyone been there? What's the deal with the new and improved Illini.

BTW I Block is now asking for a $5 minimum token purchase.

they do NOT make you buy 5 bucks in tokens anymore---they only did that for a few weeks, but that was last year--but today I had the attendant screaming at us outside the door to drop tokens....and they have remodeled the place, and they still don't mind if you just hang out there...

Were you talking about Illini or I-Block? I-Block was insisting on $5 as of the last week of April 2007.

I think its just cheaper to buy the $5 Theatre pass at the I-Block .... and then you can purchase any amt of tokens. I was there a couple weeks ago and I thyought it was still a $3 token purchase. But with the way their business has been the past few times I was there .. I wouldn't be suprised if they did raise the token purchase.

I was in one day at Illini video, but the place made me feel uncomfortable. I was just looking around and the clerk kept watching me the whole time. The front is nice since the remodel, but it will never be the same as it was when the ole man ran it ....

Unfortunately the ABS's in CU have really slowed down .... business wise. They are a real "hit&miss" !!!

Yeah, too bad the old place de-holed. Their arcade business must've tanked after that.

OK--I was at I-Block last night and here is the the REAL situation:
just like before, you only have to buy $3 in tokens to go into the arcade...still $5 for the theatre downstairs
the downstairs is very interesting...they removed all the plastic chairs and made the viewing area more of a lounge...they also opened up 2 rooms that are basically pitch black where you can go to suck, fuck, whatever--if you don't want an audience...
when I was there, 4 daddy men all had their cocks out in the viewing area sitting down jackin...I eyed one I wanted, he came over to the back area, and I sucked him dry--yum!
generally, it is best to go when the hunky straight boy is working, he is very laid back! (and nice to look at)

are there 2 or 3 arcades in champaign? i've been to the one on springfield (big fence around it) and it seems sterile - is there a theatre downstairs???
