Cruising in Des Moines?
 

What has happened to all of the cruising areas in Des Moines? It seems as if there are no safe areas for car cruising? If anyone knows of a park or other outdoor cruise areas let me know. Car cruising was fairly popular a few years ago before west river drive was "the loop". Where did all of those cruisers go?

I hit the Gallery now and again and its hit and miss. I've been checking out that park West of 6th ave w/no luck too. :( Looking to suck a good cock.

Water Works... Cruisy or Not?
 

Thanks for the response to my posting. I have also cruised Water Works Park. It has been extremely hit or miss. One day I actually met two guys and had fun with each. However there have been other times that I'd ended up jacking off to nature.
I have visited the gallery and have been majorly disappointed. I am spending 3 bucks for nothing each time and walking out with a pocket full of evidence. That is why I am looking for a place to go that is easy to access and free. Des Moines needs a gay friendly park/cruising area.
I will continue cruising Water Works in hopes that it picks up. You might want to try WW park sometime. Early mornings, lunch time and dusk seems to attract the cruise like activity. Activity that I have experienced has all happened in the parking area overlooking the river near the railroad tracks. Try it sometime and post what your impression is of the area, cruisy or not.

The glory hole action in dsm has been pretty hit or miss for the last few years. My last few visits to the Gallery have been disappointing to say the least.

The other bookstores havn't been much better. Water Works and Birdland Marina have had action in the past, but Birdland is pretty dicey given that it's regularly patrolled.

The Bookstore scene in Des Moines is tired, dying and pretty much over. The car cruising has become the same. The Hetero Team have slowly broken down every cruisy avenue that guys had. Bookstores without door, creates a supreme risk for those who want to play. And highly annoying for those that just want to jerk and go. The loop, first the trees were cut back, removing the good cover. Then the construction on University bridge stopping vehicles from parking in that area. And finally the River Walk will insure the Hetero Team that they've pushed gay cruising out of their city. Des Moines has basically fallen back into the stone ages for gay. Those damn Heteros bastards!

I just recently took a road trip and stopped at a few bookstores to pass the time. I hit Clinton, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo at each of them I had a good time fairly easy. In fact, Cedar Rapids and Waterloo made for a cock sucker's heaven. If you travel, I would recommend hitting those cities.

Des Moines needs something soon, it is quite a shame that a city of this size lacks in adult pleasures that so many other cities still offer. With my latest travels and the fun that I was able to have, really makes me want to travel more often. I can swallow the gas prices and travel, as long as I am getting my fill of cock when I do. A guy has to do what he needs to do.

Maybe a new spot will be created soon, who knows.
