What happened to that adult bookstore off the interstate in Coralville? I was really surprised to find it closed.

It closed about 3 years ago, as a result of the renewal type projects slated in that area, some of which are not going to proceed even. They knew it was going to be closed, and then one day, they just took the road out that was in front of it. That forced it to close a few months earlier than scheduled, as you couldn't get there. They looked for another location to move to, but that was unsuccessful. So, it's just plain gone now, building and all.

Thanks for the explanation. Iowa has some good adult bookstores and while this wasn't among my top favorites, it was unique because it was so old-fashioned and will be missed for that reason alone.

What kind of clientele, etc.?

The only bookstore left in Iowa City/Coralville is Pleasure Palace/Romantix on Kirkwood Street.

Damn, and that Pleasure Palace if I'm remembering the right one is one of those modernized arcades. I recall there were two arcades very close to each other. One was in a commercial building but I think the other may have been in a house? Been there years ago and I do recall, very fondly, the 2 guys I serviced, but the atmosphere for that place just wasn't the same as the one out on the interstate.

This is true. PP uses the Romantix card system. It is fairly clean, and does have a lot of glory holes. Business has picked up there since it is the only one left. Adult Marketplace, that was just up the hill from PP, closed this year. I think it might be the one you Keith called like in a house. Of course neither has ever compared to Just Different that was in Coralville. So the ABS cruising options in Iowa City and Coralville are slimmed down to just the Pleasure Palace now.
