Heading to Cactus Canyon-Ava, MO from STL

Heading to Cactus Canyon tomorrow afternoon for this weekend. I was wondering if there were any good spots between STL and Lebannon? I heard there was a new bookstore... or maybe there's something between Lebannon and Ava on the highway. ha. Anyhow.... any info?
