Like anything, the number of people here ebbs and flows.
I can't say for sure, but it seems to me that a lot of meeting/chat boards slacked off after all the publicity about the Craig's List Killer. Plus, it has been summer, and a lot of the guys have been out cruising the bushes, literally. It will pick up steam as cold weather forces some of them to change their pattern, although I have found nothing warms you up like kneeling in two feet of snow sucking a hot trucker in the rest area.

NYC and LI have literally dried up and don't know the reason why. All chat rooms/forums/etc here, and on other sites, are dead in this area and no it will not pick up during the winter. This has been ongoing for a couple of years now.
I can only imagine that everyone found the man of their dreams and partnered off.

Maybe New Yorkers are once again leading the way? Where? Back to the real world. Of course I love the Internet world and it earns me my living, but I also like being in a place with real people conversing and cruising with each other. I certainly know one major aspect of 'Cruising for Sex' that has not dried up in New York City: our sex listings. They grow and change constantly. Perhaps that is affirmation of this move back to the real world?

Yes, please post. I would LIRR into Queens for that nice cock.
New Yorker's are an odd bunch. They lurk in all the major gay chatrooms on other sites but never say anything. One has to assume they are all in a hot private message but you never know. It's quirk unique to the NYC metro area. Other areas in the US have active conversations going in chatrooms and message boards but in the NYC metro area one will see the viewed count going up without any responses. We are all too busy, but if one took the time to view a message then a reply wouldn't hurt the daily schedule much.

I'm finding that there aren't as many cruising spots as there use to be, here in NYC. Most other websites have dominated the whole 'game.' Also, when this site use to have the most up-to-date info on the best areas to 'throw down,' it seems to be pretty outdated for the NYC region, so folks will look at the more popular of websites, like adam4adam or ManHunt.

Our NYC sex listings are very, very active, changing several times a week. Certainly we would welcome submissions from you, too, 'RicanOneLove'. Perhaps you're a frequent participant so we can make sure our listings are accurate?

You're on the website that lists cruisy areas in your area and, for that matter, around the world.

The problem with a lot of the other sites is that they are just a place to arrange a suck/fuck session. The guys are there and gone in a couple of days. I assume a lot are fed up with the false fronts and low quality of respondents. The reason I feel CFS fills my needs better is the cruising info on various cities. Also, it allows me to keep up on changes in the ABS scene, sadly mostly who's closing or having to restrict activities because of local puritans. Of course, it also serves as an outlet for my creative side in the dirty stories and news articles I post.
As with everything, there are cycles. One novel explanation sent to me by one writer was he was being very discreet because there had been so many layoffs at his company and he did not want to give them "a reason" to want him gone. I wonder if others out there are going back in the closet in these uncertain employment times. If you want to respond to me in private, check my profile for contact info, and drop me a line. I won't blow your cover, You, maybe; your cover, never. Disclaimer: No, I do not work for CFS. Heck, I don't even always agree with Keith. I just have my own opinions, and like to express them.
