So it does seem that hidding notes under the flap in the bill fold is common practice at X-Size. It may work well for them as many customers don't always count their change. I think it's dishonest.

So to recap, the recommended tips for off boys are:

For Pattaya:

Short time $1,000
Overnight $1,500

For Bangkok:

Short time $1,500 minimum

Update on tips

I haven't been to Thailand in about a few years, and now I am planning a trip in February. Last time I was in Pattaya a mamasen told me that the fair rate for tips for bar boys was 1,500 for short...
