Have you tried the CFS Video Store? Click on the "Buy" tab at the very top of the CFS page and check it out.

In addition to the CFS videostore, my two favorite and most reliable sources for DVDs are:

http://www.tlavideo.com and

http://www.amvc.com

TLA video carries mainstream gay DVDs, soft-core gay DVDs and hard-core gay DVDs. I never waste money on the soft-core stuff and some of the mainstream movies are good even though they rarely have any sex shots. The hard-core DVDs show explicit fucking and sucking. Although they carry some "amateur" DVDs, most of their stock are from "professional" companies and have full color printed cases and discs.

AMVC sells "amateur" videos that are not as slick as the "pro" videos, but some of them have a certain charm because they are as close to viewing real sex as you can get. You can tell they were shot by one guy and his friends like the CFS DVDs are shot. Each producer has his own favorite look in guys (just as CFS does) and you can often find neat stuff.

http://www.vidkidtimo.com has always had good stuff, but the owner/producer has gone on sabbatical for awhile -- you can look at his for sale pages, but you can't buy any of them until he puts the buy buttons back on the web pages.

Peer to peer

Has anyone had any luck with peer to peer services?

P2P services are certainly an available option for sharing and collecting porn.

I make a hobby of participating in this, in fact.

There are some caveats, however:

You need to be at least a little bit technically proficient. The software interface isn't very complicated -- but depending on the technology available to you, you will need to learn several pieces of software in order to save, convert and view your films.

Having a high-end or at the very least NEW computer helps. Rendering a video is a processor-intensive activity that takes a lot of CPU power and drains systems resources.

P2P is not FAST, even with broadband connections. Rather than providing a boring, geeky explanation of WHY -- just trust me on this. It can take several days to get a full film -- and usually another eight hours to twenty-four hours to render it into a viewable format -- depending on your PC speed, the software you use, the size of the flick, etc.

Fake films exist and the risk of some asshole compromising your computer is very real unless you know what you are doing and take the appropriate steps to protect your PC.

Rarely... you can download a large flick and devote tons of time to doing so -- only to find that the final segment of the movie is not available -- or that the whole thing is corrupt and essentially trash. This doesn't happen often, but when it does -- it really sucks.

Certain movie studios that produce porn search out the P2P networks for users who are illegally downloading their films. They'll report you to your ISP if they catch you. Your ISP will send a warning letter. Comply -- you won't have a problem. Get caught multiple times -- your service can be canceled. DO NOT download films from these studios -- they are aggressive at tracking down P2P users.

The good news is that MOST studios don't bother -- there's THREE who actively and zealously go after file sharers. If you join the networks, you'll learn who they are in no time at all -- everyone will warn against them. Heed that advice.

You will need at LEAST a CD burner and some software which will convert to MPG2 format so you can make an SVCD of your porn. The original film that you download may or may not have to be split into segments before you can save them to a CD. THEN each segment must be rendered into viewable format. Some movies are already split up -- that's nice, they fit on a CD perfectly. But some are not.

If you have a DVD burner, you can eliminate a few of the steps with regard to file size and cutting and splitting -- since obviously a DVD will hold a lot more data.

You can download a fully rendered MPG2 stream and burn more or less directly to DVD -- but these aren't easy to find. Most trading involves standard MPG files, which are small and transfer faster.

You MUST trade at least SOMETHING in order to get queue priority for YOUR download. Most software sort of "allows" you to jump in and get a film and will automatically share the bits of file collected on your PC with others -- so you trade automatically by default. But you get more speed and a better queue position with lots of other networked PCs. Yet once you have a full film or two on your hard drive, it's "polite" to leave them in place so others can download them from you. The more you OFFER, the more you GET in return.

But note that most P2P networks that focus on films do NOT reward those who share thousands of music files -- in fact, this is often discouraged. Share one or two fully downloaded films -- and burn everything else to CD or DVD to save it.

Note also that you can made VCD a lot faster -- but the quality is less than that of an SVCD.

DVD burning is the way to go if you want to get into this.

Bottom line -- sure, the file-sharing networks work and can be a lot of fun. Just take the proper precautions, be ready to fiddle around a bit and learn some new software -- and don't be in a huge hurry, it can take a while to get rolling with this.
