My advice is know your local ordinances first. In one of our ABS, the local ordinance requries video booths and bathroom stall walls to be one piece, unperforated steel. Even the smallest hole drilled in a wall requires the booth to be closed and the entire wall to be replaced before being opened. Due to this cost in lost business and replacement, we take a very dim view of anyone trying to drill a gloryhole. In another local without the same ordinance, we put gloryholes in when erecting the booths "to allow for ventillation".
That said, there are small battery operated hand drills with interchangable heads. Get the drill and a wide hole bore attachment. You'll probably want one head for wood/composite material and one for metal. Don't forget sand paper to smooth out the rough edges. Don't want to damage the goods with scratches or splinters. For a really professional appearance, get some round rubber gaskets. The kind with an open "U" channel to snap into place. Carry it all in a handy gym bag. Takes less than a minute to install in wood/composite walls, a little longer on metal. |
Use a cordless drill with a good battery. You will need a hole saw about 3" or even better, 4" in diameter. Put the drill with the saw attached in a backpack and wear it into the rest room. It will be noisy, so you have to make sure that you do it when nobody is around. If you drill through the composite partition, it will be faster and less noisy than the steel panels. I would suggest cleaning up the shavings, etc and leaving it as if it has always been that way. A note: If you get caught, you could be charged with vandalism.

I remember the first few times I saw a glory hole and I wondered who would have made it -
Later reading on boards like this I found that many of them were made by people working at the place! |
