Going to Society islands 5/15 - 5/25 gay info?

Going on a gauguin cruise ship in Society Islands and staying in Bora Bora and Tahiti for some extra nights. Can anyone tell me what the gay scene is like in this area and where to go? bars? beaches? Any info appreciated.
