Will be going to Bali in a couple of weeks. Grateful advice on area to stay, hotels (no problems with guests) and prices, cruising/pick up areas/bars etc pay and/or no pay. Also any must see places.
Thanks in advance. |
Grateful any suggestions.

Kuta Beach
Stay on the North side. Best cruising is when bars let out, all along the beach, but only the northern stretch (north of the hard rock)... Just there and saw lots of cruising, but no action.

Is there not information on Bali on Utopia?

don't know if this is too late
this is from a report i did after my trip there earlier this year
Balifriendlyhotels.com is where i booked my accomodation. The owner of the site is gay and very nice guy very helpful. I stayed at the Saphir Mabisa Inn at legian .This is the cheapest hotel in the range but was quite ok i was only there for a few nights . double rooms with ensuite air cond and balcony includes buffet breakfast (sufficient) and pool with bar. Legian is just north of Kuta . Kuta is very busy with tourists The further north you go the quieter it gets . There are 4 main gay venues in Bali. The Hulu cafe is just off Padma legian (street) The owner is an Australian named Robert. No one starts arriving until 10pm and they have a ladyboy show at 11pm which goes for about an hour . can get quite crowded then it closes soon after the show . good for cruising. around 12pm everyone heads to Q bar which is in a parallel legian north of Hulu catch a taxi the legian is Dhyana pura but often referred to as gado gado after the hotel on the beach end. Qbar is a 2 storey spacious bar sometimes with a show on weekend nights loud music and a big cruising place there are plernty of money boys but they are usually upfront about it and the prices ok around 200,000 rupiah is ok.Although they will ask for more . they are into bargaining more than Thailand. opposite Q bar is Kudos but it doesn't get going until about 1pm when any shows at Q bar have finished . There is also Sugar bar but it is also a late starter after 1pm i didn't get to Sugar so can't report.also double six (66) is a night club late start where many gays go It is on the Legian south of Q bar . All the taxis will know . Although they have those gay bars being gay is very much a secret during other hours and places. very different to Thailand. Although if you're gaydar is working i had no trouble meeting others and even picking up including beach and hotel staff. They are often very horny. Bali is a poorer country than Thailand and still struggling .The average wage for hotel, restaurant staff seemed to be about 500,000 rupiah per month which is about $75 Australian. i enjoyed and will be returning . oh you may want to have a look at gaydar .com under indonesia and gayromeo.com these personal sites have many Bali guys looking for westerners. It is USD25 visa fee on arrival for many countries and 100,000 rupiah departure. |
Many Thanks for the info.
Which places on the beach are good for cruising /money boys. I will stay at Seminyak. Also any other daytime places, bars etc Cheers Jim |
London Jim, just walk around... They will talkto you :)
|
On daytime try out a beach north of Seminyak. you can walk there or take a taxi to "Petitenget Beach" or "La Lucciola" restaurant on that beach. From there walk a few meters north and you will find "Callego" Cafe and massage. Be aware that most of the guys there are not money boys and might get angry if you talk to them like you would talk to a money boy. Those who hang out on the beach nearby ore more likely money boys, especially a little bit further north in front of and inside the bushes.

That said, Seminyak is much more international (read: fewer Aussies) than Kuta, but is still really fun for us homos. Have a great time! |
