Bad experience at Xtreme

I usually post (well, rarely) under a different name, but to relate this experience, I needed a separate name.

About 10 days ago, I off'ed a guy from Xtreme Bar. In the preliminary conversation via a senior waiter who could translate, I ws told his was 19. The farang boss also assured me that all his boys were at least 18 and that all were gay.

I took the boy out to another bar to watch the show, during which I asked him if he had his ID. He said no, he didn't. Since my hotel had clearly told me that they check IDs at reception, it was impossible to take him further. I realise it's my mistake not to have checked that he had his ID while still in Xtreme, so I was qutie prepared to write off the fee I had paid Xtreme.

Still, I went back to Xtreme and asked the farang boss whether I could change to another guy. He was kind enough to say, of course, and then scolded the first boy for not having his ID.

So I took another one. However, the first one followed me everywhere, even out into Soi twilight, threw a small tantrum and made a big scene in the street. Besides causing great embarrassment to me, it began to affect the second guy, and I had the feeling his mood would not be right after all this.

So I left both and walked off.

While I thank the farang boss for his consideration in letting me change the boy, I think he needs better discipline in his bar, His boys shouldn't be allowed to make a scene and his doormen shouldn't just stand around and watch while a customer is being treated badly by one of his boys.

I'm quite turned off by Xtreme Bar now, and the boast that all the boys are gay is, in my mind, a liability, in that they are all potentially womanly tantrum-throwers.

X-Treme Bar

I understand your frustration and the situation should have been avoided by the manager of the bar. All boys know they need ID's to go to hotels. I have offed several boys from X-treme and never had an issue with them not having an ID. X-treme is my favorite bar in Bangkok as I much prefer the show there to the fuck shows in the other bars. The farang owner you refer to has always been nice and friendly and I have been told by numerous boys that he is very good to them.

Like you, I do prefer a gay boy to one that isn't. Please don't let this one experience blow your expectations at X-treme or with other bars in general. If I were you, I would go back and talk to the Farang owner about the situation. I thought he ran a pretty tight ship and am sure he would appreciate to know about the situation.

you won't have to worry for too much longer - I don't think the rumours of its imminent demise are exaggerated

If true, that's too bad. On my last trip, I was the only one of my group who didn't find all the Xtreme dancers "too young." Didn't have time to go back by myself that trip, but have been thinking of doing so next trip.

bad management

Bad and/or indifferent managment seems to be the norm at gay go-go bars in Thailand these days. I haven't been impressed with the overall operation of any bars since the days of Midnight Cowboy in Saphan Khwai back in the early to mid 1990s. After the owner died, the place closed and nothing in that area has been the same since. Although, to be fair, BeHigh is pretty good and the service is pleasant and never pushy. The Silom/Suriwong area bars, however, need a total makeover in my opinion.

What's happening with the land of SMILES?

Thais used to be nice and polite. A few years ago, when something like this happened, the boy without ID would just smile and walk away.
