There are dozens (hundreds?) of "love hotels" all over Bangkok. Your boy will know a convenient one. No questions are asked at any of them, and their standards are all pretty much the same.

The last time I was in Bangkok I noticed a short time hotel named the Tarntawan directly opposite the Tawan Bar. This is not to be confused with the Tarntawan Hotel around the corner although they would be obviously connected. Has anyone utilised the short term Tarntawan? Does anyone have more up to date first hand knowledge of short term hotels in the same area?

The best short time hotel for Fri and Sat after 10pm is the Charkan Sauna. Went there last Sat, 80 Bahts by taxi from Silom and 99B entrance fee per person. For two, the total is 280B, cheaper than 700B charged by the Suriwong Hotel for short time.

Charkan is clean and nicely decorated. It is a romantic place - wandering around the dark and quite corridors, swimming naked in the dim light pool, cavorting at the roof top garden surrounded by fragrant plants under the moon light!

How long does Chakran stay open, df? They used to welcome farangs although it always seemed mostly for Thai guys. Would an older (50ish) not too out-of-shape farang have much hope of success?

I believe on Fri and Sat, Charkan opens until 6am. Last time I went there, I left at 4am. The place is quite empty, I suggest to bring ur own trick. I am Chinese, it is hard for me to tell how well an older farang would be received.

3 more cheap places for short-time encounters in SILOM area
1.NIAGARA hotel, just a short walk/tuktukride from the GCock/Tawan etc. area: CROSS over Silom, away from Patpong, cross over redlights/skytrain, then next soi after Silom Plaza, around the corner (and behind the christian cemetary). Theyre just renovating rooms, rate is 300 bt, but now for 2 hrs instead of formerly 3. Big bed, effective AC, bath replaced by shower, water lukewarm at the best, straight porn on the TV.
2. in Patpong soi 2 (just beyond where Screw boy used to be), UPstairs, (pay ground floor, also 300 bt/2 hrs), very clean, in fact looked like a hospital inside to me.
3.the BBB place on RAM IV, around the ''backside'' of the Soi twilight/gay bar area, (was 300 last year) but bigger tip expected (at least 50, BF told me), have not been inside there.
