Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel
 

Wow pow and others. Any problems with joiners at this hotel? Any other comments? How many minutes walk from night bazaar? I am about to book for December. Any comments appreciated.

I stayed in Chiang Mai Plaza last July. This hotel is good for the price, the location and the facilities, but not for the joiners.
My first "mistake" was to book a double room so when I arrived alone at the reception, I had a lot of questions about when the second person should arrive... They refused to give me the extra breakfast coupon for the second person.
Later I have invited "a friend" in my room for a drink before to go to a disco but when we reached the elevator, the 24h security guard has explained to my friend after an ID check (during 5 mn) that I will be charged 500 baths for overnight stay. After 40 mns, they have started to call my room to know if my friend will leave the room or not ...
This hotel is definitly not for joiners...
But if you like a high level of security (there is also a guard at each floor), then this is the place to go...
