I found many of Thai guys on GAY.COM were money boys .
Even when I scored a sure thing , it usually took 3 hours to make
a deal .
On top of that , 90% of guys ignored me ,

Don't know how long it's been since you've chatted, TP, but nowadays most of the boys have video cameras so that you can see very live and very moving pictures of him (and vice versa) before you decide to make a date.

I've found that it's much easier to hook up with nice guys that you meet in departmental stores, markets, etc. than on the internet. Being a Malaysian, I guess the ones on the net aren't interested because they know we're unlikely to fall in love with them to the extent of sending money for dead buffaloes, sick grannies or failed rice crops. Makes us sound hardhearted I know, but that's the way most Malaysian gay guys are. We've usually been played out by our own countrymen before we go hunting outside of our borders.

It is probably much harder for you because you're an Asian. GWM are in greater demand, and you can get it on gay.com anytime you want it. Non-commercially, and no sick buffalos. A lot of times, they turn out to be college boys, office types, and well-off young yuppies.

I have to agree with you on this, too, Icon. Certainly the general perception in LOS is that if you are white, gay and of a certain maturity (see I never mentioned the taboo word)...then you must be rich, lonely and looking for a lifelong companion to support...regardless whether your family has one sick buffalo or a thousand healthy ones with Doctorates.

It's as much racial profiling as their perception that if you are non-White, then you can't be as good at speaking, reading or writing the English language as someone of the right tint, never mind if he comes from a country where less than 1% of the population can even understand the most basic English words.

I used to be quite bitter about it but nowadays, I have come to realize that it's just another fact of life and simply refuse to consider anything longer other than a two...okay...okay...three-night stand. That, at least, they understand.

Yes, there are some money boys on gay.com. But of the 100-150 people using the Bangkok room at any one time, I'd estimate them at less than 10-15%. It often seems more because they are usually the first ones to aggressively private you.
