Bangkok bars are having the boys dancing in shirts and all 'explicit' content in shows has been cut.

Wonder if the national police chief is responsible for such a change, or perhaps it's a district action? I was in Saphan Khwai on Saturday night and the dancers at Be High were in their usual butt-revealing briefs. Sadly, the crew wasn't much to look at (in my opinion), but they weren't shy about exposing skin and other "utensils." The rest of Saphan Khwai remains a boring mix of karoake dens and host bars with fully-clothed young men. I miss the old Midnight Cowboy/New Wave/Apache go-go havens in that part of town. Used to be a fun area, but no longer.

Hey Buzzard....remember the original cowboy bar? Wasn't that fun....I even offed the cutest captain from there....then there Aladin that had great shows and served fresh cut pineapple or crsips with every drink and had a sprinkling of drag queens mingling with the farang.

Biggles, yes I remember the original Midnight Cowboy (in the first location). Great bar. Well managed with a very attractive and pleasant crew of boys. I had forgotten about Aladdin. They also had a lot of offer in the old days. Along with places like K-Nude and the old Adam, Aladdin also had go-go boys every night. What the hell happened? I really miss those days. Be High still offers go-go boys, but the rest of the Saphan Kwai bars no longer do it. I had heard it was due to a strict district (Saphan Khwai) police chief or some such reason. Is Be High the only one in that area paying money under the table (under the bridge?) or what?

I just think that the area now caters to a more Thai crowd that is more into drinking and karaoke than go-go.

Aladdin has moved to another location (along Kampheng Phet Road) and is now called Asian karaoke, but I never went to the new place. I too have fond memories of this place when they still had some (tame) gogo dancing.
As for Be High I heard the owner was a policeman's wife.
Anyway a lot of fun can still be had in Saphan Kwai where some gems are hiding but you have to be lucky and persevering to find them.

Is Stax Boy still in business?

The place is still a bar, but the name has changed I think. It's been a long time since I saw anything interesting there.

Icon is right: the Thais love their karaoke and watching scantily clad go-go dancers doesn't seem to interest them nearly as much as warbling out of tune. And he's also correct about Stax: the bar is still in the same location, and the manager appears to be the same friendly man, but it's been renamed. I haven't been inside recently, but no doubt they also have "gone karaoke".

I was in some of the bars early Wednesday night this week. Future Boys suddently stopped the early show just as 3 lads with har-ons got on stage to drip candle wax. The 3 went flying off stage and up the stairs, so obviously there was some sort of police presence on the street.

However, nothing stopped Dream Boys from doing their usual big dick show at 10.30....complete with two fully dressed ladyboys who paraded on stage and then both dropped their skirts to reveal two massive uncut dicks!!! Quite a show.

I tried to get into Tawan for the 11.00 show, but the place was so full that they tried to sit my behind a pole where I could see nothing, so I left and went to Rama IV.

This week I found that all the Soi Duangathawee Plaza bars had the boys dancing in singlets and briefs.

I was showing a friend around and he missed out on seeing a fuck show last trip a year ago so I was happy to see the show at Future Boys which included several naked with erection acts and a triple - 3 couples - fuck show of impressive athleticism. They seem a bit short on really handsome boys there at the moment.

Jupiter 2002 has a lot of gorgeous new boys all with six packs and delightful. The energetic show is a real treat and they have got the biggest cock in town ( well I'm not including donkeys )

Tawan has a few new boys just beginning to develop their physiques and many of the old hands are in splendid shape. Dancing is shirtless with a tiny thong. The show is quite amusing and they have explicit an finale.
