Halitosis.
-- I'm a non-smoker, (of ciggies., that is - ha!), and despite yrs. of inhaling belching BKK. 'buses. etc I reckon that my sense of smell hasn't been destroyed utterly.
- Yet, to me, why is it that somany of BKK's. boyz have bwefs that pong? - Is it because: 1.- Of dietary reasons; 2.- Of poor dental/oral hygiene; 3.- They don't 'download' , (as Techies. might say.), regularly; 4.- I'm unduely sensitive; 5.- Of some other reason? -- Assuming that they do suffer from bad breath what's the most tactful way of encouraging them to have sweeter breaths? bibi.. |
Two words for you: som and tam .
The answer is simple: offer them some chewing gum. |
I don't remember ever finding a guy with halitosis in Thailand. I have had the very occasional armpit pong so I just send them back to shower again. Exercising musclemen get very sweaty.
I do have Listerine in my bathroom. I rinse and garge rather than brush my teeth beforehand. I think some boys drink the stuff - so much goes. I think that Thais are, in general, the most clean, groomed and delightful people. Naturally, I exclude smokers. |
With all due respect for the Thais: if it really stinks, they love to eat it. Pla ra, durian, som tam, loads of garlic to scare of a legion of vampires - you just name it.
Ask your friend to gargle some mouth water, or offer some gum. I don't like gum myself, and usually have some mint tablets. Might help. |
-- Guys,
- Thanks for your replies - all helpful. - In some countries in wch. 'Listerine.' is made it contains an alcohol base; I can well remember my bottles of L'ine. being scrutinised by the KSA. Customs for that - apparently some Saudis who have become addicted to alcohol can consume it in qtys.; should I swallow L'ine. accidentally then I'll be in CR. for some time down-loading. - Possibly with the approach of Hallow E'en. we'll experience an INCREASE in the sales and use of garlic - ha! -- bibi.. |
u may try - even just once- some som tam and some garlic rice or so-u may just like it and surprice its also good for u. Than u dont have to download tons of chemical mouth wash :)

Only if they have been washed thoroughly. And then rarely. At least, in our famous hangout near World Trade Plaza  I don't get to rim that often...
Even in sauna's I don't often meet Thais that like to rim. Being rimmed, loads. |
