Massage in Chiang Mai

Anyone who can suggest a good massage place in Chiang Mai? That is: good massage (four hands maybe) followed by real treatment.

Massage Chiangmai

Massages in Chiangmai are getting very expensive, even more than in BKK. One-2-come now has minimum tip of 800 baht, and Gemini massage is 700 baht for hour massage. Best choice these days is Marn-Mai Massage, still 500 baht for 1.5 hours and reasonable tip, boys are nice and massage is good. Situated in Chang Puak Road Soi 2, same side and near to Kovitthamrong School

Marnmai Chai Kha

I can only confirm the recommandation about Marnmai Chai Kha, I especially liked the atmosphere (music, decoration) which I found nice and relaxing. I went there at 3 in the afternoon and found about 6 or 7 boys, of which I chose a beautiful 19 y.o from Mae Rim who was very professionnal although a little bit shy.

Don't be bashful guys.... which of these places offer the "full works" a la Hero and Albury in Bangkok? If the guy does the full works, then it doesn't matter anymore what the min tip is, we'd generally tip more than that. But it would be nice when describing a place to say how far things go, so that others can judge whether it's what they are looking for.

Visiting Chiang Mai last week I found that massage venues seem to be mushrooming but "full works" seems to be an unknown concept. After checking various websites, I went first to Mystic Orient Massage around 7:30pm. This is in a Thai-style house not far from Tapae Gate. Only 4 masseurs were available - 2 others were already working. I selected a nice young guy, chose jasmine oil and then asked the mamasan if the boy "does everything" afterwards. Yes, I was informed, all the boys do everything.

Well, the massage was quite good, although the towel stayed on throughout. "Everything" turned out to be anything but - just an energetic 5-finger exercise which I did not want. So I gave up, asked the mamasan "why not everything?" whereupon I got the usual excuse about the boy being new and perhaps not sure . . blah, blah. I left the minimum tip but was offered a discount on an everything massage if I came back the next day!! I did not.

That day I returned to His Massage where I had enjoyed an excellent massage and some pleasant after playing around with an extremely well-endowed boy on my last visit. His is on the way south out of the city on the right about 100 meters past the Park hotel. 5:00 pm was perhaps a bit early and only 3 boys were on duty, but I was assured more were on the way, Sure enough, another 5 arrived within 5 minutes and I chose a tall, slim Chiang Mai boy. A pleasant shower together preceded a very firm massage (which I wanted) but yet again there was nothing available afterwards except a hand job. This time I did not complain as I had not checked in advance, but it made me wonder: is this now the practice in Chiang Mai? Anyone know?

The gay bar scene is also changing. The sleazy Adam's Apple is now but a happy memory, and New My Way, Circle Pub and Free Guy (a misnomer if ever there was one) are only host bars where the guys are more masculine and butch now. But the show at New My Way is excellent. No sex, but it's entertaining with a lot of titillation and extremely well-endowed individuals - far better than the Bangkok shows. Just the two hour show alone is well worth the drink price of Bt. 190. The other two bars have the same type of show with some similarly 'big' boys, but they lack the slickness and variety of New My Way.

costs

As I recall just a year ago tip in Chinagmai used to be just 400-500 baht. What's happening? Boys being spoiled by Bangkok?

Every tuk-tuk driver seems to know it. Since no-one seems able to find actual addresses, phoning is better - 053 404 361. It's very close to the Maple Spa and about 10 minutes walk from the Mercure Hotel (the old Novotel now renamed)

The minimum tip depends on the length of the massage - usually from 45 minutes to 2 hours. At Mystic it was Bt. 600 for 90 minutes. At HIS, I seem to recall it was Bt. 800 for 90 minutes.

-- Thank you for your reply.
- It's not that often that I visit the self-styled 'Rose of the North.', and when I do I prefer to walk, (one never knows whom one might meet on the way ;) ),.
- Still - if it takes going thither by tuk-tuk then so be it.

While not very accurate, this may help to find New My Way:

Chiang Mai Map

Listed as #8 it's walkable from anywhere inside the moat but then, I too prefer to walk.

- Thank you; so 'MY WAY.', (#8.), and the 'NEW MY WAY.' are basically one and the same?

I have scanned a more accurate map of the location. Hope you can see New My Way in the upper left section (up from Gemini Massage). That soi is Soi 3 off Hatsadhisawee Road.

- Thank you again for this larger map, wch. is a great help to these failing eyes.
- If the NEW 'MY WAY.' is in the same loc'n. as its predecessor - and I suspect that it is, ('Puting new wine into old bottles.') - then my Address Book notes that it would be opposite to the CASCADE HTL..

Admittedly it was dark, but I do not recall any hotel near the New My Way. And the Chiang Mai hotel guide does not list any hotel or guesthouse of that name (tho' of course the name could have been changed). But with the map, you should find it quite easily.

My recent experience of Marnmai Chai Kha was mixed. The receptionist was very friendly and gave me a lift to and from the place with his motorcycle. Upon arrival, the "owner", a super-queeny middle-aged guy, spoke to me loudly in front of another customer as well as three boys sitting on the floor, asking me to choose one and saying they were all good. I was quite put off by his (her) loud-mouth manerisms. I chose one boy and was brought upstairs, after which I found the place old and dingy. Because the boy looked a little "different", I asked if he were an ethnic Shan, to which he said yes, and also most in this establishment were Shan and straight. ["Shan" is "Tai-yai" in the Thai language] The boy was respectful and had good manners, gave a good message and relatively good after-services (bearing in mind he is straight). On both arrival and departure, I noticed the other customers were really old Thai grandpas.

Blue's Club

This establishment seems to take their customers seriously. I recently "ordered" a boy to hotel room. Though he was nice and exceedingly handsome, his eyes were red and his breath full of alcohol. And he couldn't do a massage for nuts, or rather was too drunk to do anything. I called the shop and complained. They sent a replacement, who was great. But before that I tipped the gorgeous drunk boy anyway, out of pity, before showing him the door. Next, I noticed in their website, the picture of this gorgeous boy missing. When I called to enquire, they said he has been made redundant because "his health was not up to mark". Pity! This gorgeous drunk has looks and a physique that can beat any Thai superstar! .. in my opinion.

Chiang mai massage

Following site is worth a look for Chiang Mai information:

Radchada Café Bar & Restaurant, Chiang Mai - Chiang Mai Gay Guide

A farang friend visits CM very regularly and advises that River House is excellent. Friendly and professional management and lots of hot young men (many are uni. students) who are willing to please.

no doubt he''l appear in bar nr 2/3/4 in a day or 2. Strange though that that place itself did not note he was mao-lao laew-do they only use the mobuy to summon one?
Now that Ive seen the site of 1-2-Come (the other rec. one a\was B-Beez boys) I wonder why their prices are SO high-even more as mnay BKK places/spas? Is that to hint at expected quality?

Have not gone to 1-2-Come, but B-Beez was not at all expensive - can't remember prices, though. I found that this place (B-Beez) is relaxed and casual, but the boys, all on the older side (at least mid-20s) are ugly in my view. I was told the vast majority of customers are regular farangs.

Tried One-2-come recently. They charge 500 baht for oil/cream massage 60 minutes, 700 baht for 90 minutes. Min tip 500 baht.

Yes, it appears to be high for Chiang Mai.

One possible reason is that their massage rooms have ensuite bathrooms, with the masseur giving a shower before and after the massage. The three other places that I have been to in Chiang Mai had showers separate from the massage room, and I showered alone.

As for the quality of the massage, it was no better, no worse than other Chiangmai experiences I had. Having said that, it is more dependent on the masseur than the venue owner.

I suppose, if one wants a really good massage, one should visit Sanctuary Massage in Chiang Mai - a branch of the Bangkok one of the same name? I haven't been there though.

I gave up on Sanctuary some time ago because [1] prices are very high (you don't give tips, though, because no extra service is supposed to happen) and [2] quality of massage is not assured -- it's hit & miss --they're all trained but they not all skilful.

re 1/2Come then-as I am now back in Eur anyway dont really want to quibble about all that
I reported on White House in faraway suburben Bangkapi in BKK' and Bodyclub/on the BKk-massage thread.
BC charges a bargain 390 THB for 90 mins oil/and all rooms have showers inside and the boys all shower with you before and after/thats their ´´house policy´´ min tip also 500.
WHse was an experience in itself/500 THB for 90 mins sensual oil/and no min stated/but the usual fee well worth. No inside shower/its a converted row/house/but its all conceded on the same floor.
