Passed Senso this pm and was tempted to go in, but I saw from utopia-asia.com that the massage cost is Bt.1,200 and minimum tip Bt.1,200. I suspect this may be inaccurate and so I wonder if brief encounter could elaborate on his visit. If the tip is indeed Bt.1,200 minimum, I trust the massage and happy ending were highly satisfactory.

I believe the correct price is 650 for one hour, 800 for 1.5 hours, plus 1,000 baht tip minimum.

Icon's price quote is the correct one.

In November a good selection of strapping masseurs and quality control for massage then was thought to be high by my cruising mate and myself.

Fewer bottom than top but you may be surprised.

Visited Senso around 4.30 pm today. 5 masseurs available at that time - all handsome, muscled, but only one gay according to the mamasan. Took him for 90 minute oil massage at Bt. 900 plus Bt. 1,200 minimum tip. Premises look and feel new. Heow (or maybe Heaw) from Phrae has almost alabaster hairless skin. Quite a turn on although he is c'c'sed and smaller than average. Showered together. Very good massage. Happy ending not quite as good as hoped, but he did try to please and so I left refreshed and feeling it was worthwhile.

On one visit to Senso I gave a minimum 1000bht tip to a young man who could have done better in the customer service attitude department.Very good masseur but tried time wasting tricks...taking two pees,showering ahead of me for a long time after early conclusion and a generally "don't want to be there" sulky attitude.

Normally I am generous - sometimes extremely so -and not demanding but couldn't let this pass.Otherwise there is no standard.There was no friction over the basic tip.

Conversely,once at Andy's Man,the sex was fantastic,massage perfunctory and time total only 30mins or so.Gave the worker 1000baht and he couldn't have been more pleased.

All other visits by myself and friend have been first-rate,satisfaction provided.Even this dud was skilled with the hands.But then I could have gone to Ban Tewa or one of those more coy places.

So 1000 was acceptable in November.

I'm with you there, brief encounter. If service is not satisfactory, minimum tips (or if minimum not stated beforehand, 900 to 1000 baht) is all they deserve. The problem, as Sextile is pointing out, is that establishments may begin to raise their minimum tips, and we should be alert to this and report here accordingly.

As for Senso, I wasn't overwhelmed on my one visit. Sure, their decor is nice, their location convenient, their boys' looks to my taste (though necessarily not everyone's).... but in the end, it's the service that counts.

I think massage establishments have a honeymoon period. At first everybody's gushing about a place when it's new and somebody reports glowingly. But after a while, a consensus develops whether it is any better than the rest. That consensus they should be able to see themselves on their bottom line.

Once again, the minimum tip at Senso is 1,000 baht.

I was told very clearly that for 60 minutes the tip is Bt. 1,000; for 90 minutes it is Bt. 1,200.

I was speaking about the standard, 60-minute massage. I was unaware that there was a higher tip specified for 90 minutes, but thanks for pointing that out.

Judging from my recent experiences in Chiang Mai, it seems to be quite common for the minimum tip to rise in accordance with the length of the massage.

Paid my first visit to Adonis at the end of Soi Convent at 6:00 pm this afternoon. At least 15 boys on duty, chose cute Khun Art from Hua Hin for a 90 minutes aromatherapy massage at Bt. 800 ad minimum Bt. 800 tip. No mutual shower at start and Art kept his briefs on throughout even though I indicted it would be nice if he removed them.

Massage pleasant but not special. Once briefs were removed Art showed he is well endowed and easily aroused. The special massage was fun but really just a glorified handjob and not what I made clear I wanted. Still, it was not unenjoyable. When I tipped Bt.1,000, I was asked for another Bt.500 "for special massage"!. I explained I already gave him more than the minimum but he said that was for ordinary massage!!! He then asked for Bt. 200 more. He got nothing. So that's one gay massage place off my list.

I've never had a good time at Adonis (three strikes and they're out!). Someone mentioned Andy's Man - are they still open?

I agree about Adonis: it has been off my list for a long time.

Andy's Man has been closed for a long time. No loss, in my view. The rooms were extremely basic and the service no better than what fountainhall described above.
