Royal funeral

Anyone know what restrictions on bars / clubs / alcohol are expected (in BKK and nationally) over the period 14th -19th Nov for the royal cremation, and especially weekend of 15th / 16th ?

-- I've made a few prelim. enquiries hereabouts - Si Lom/Suriwong/P.Pong 2/Soi Twilight area - the gen'l. expectation is that there may well be some sort of prohibition - but all will await the good word from their local Police Stns., wch., according to past form, will be issued at the proverbial last minute.

According to work, everything is still open.....work as usual.....but according to my experience in Thailand, I would have to concur with the wise words of Sextile, notices "will be issued at the proverbial last minute" for both entertainment venues as well as government offices, banks, schools, etc.

It was Princess Galyani, the King's eldest sister. She died back in early January, but these "official" Royal cremations take lots of time to organize, so the actual event is only now just taking place. It's a very big deal for most Thai people, so I'm sure many bars will in fact be closed, or at least not serving alcohol or allowing dancing, during the official mourning period.
