Pattay Hotel Help Please

I tried to do a site search, as I do not want to "pollute" these waters with a question that has already been asked and answered... but, alas, no luck, so here goes:

I am an American living now in Bangkok, and loving it... but it is time for me to have a little incognito get-away (way too many guys know me here in the City of Angels), and, of course Pattaya beckons yet again.

Can any of you Pattaya experts recommend a place to stay? Nothing piss-elegant, and my tastes run more Sunee than Boystown... Would love a place with in-room internet, but it is NOT a deal breaker!

Many thanks, and I promise a detail of my adventures will be posted to the board in return!

Thanks... Richard
(board newbie)

Pattaya Hotel

On my last visit to Pattaya (November 2008) I stayed at the Amari Nova Platinum. Nice hotel, reasonable prices - especially pay in advance at time of booking - and an easy walk to Sunee Plaza. The hotel has free wi-fi.

I stayed in a deluxe room which had a pool view and was very quiet. The other rooms over look the road so there might be some traffic noise there.

I plan to stay there again in October when I visit again.

Zippo - I didn't try. I used a room around Sunee Plaza for the guys I offed from Krazy Dragon. I am sure I saw it advertised or stated somewhere that the hotel was gay friendly though.

Late at night there was security around the lobby and lift area of the hotel.

If you upgrade to IE8 and buy a decent anti-virus software, you'll find the world a less frightening place.

As an IE8 user with decent anti-virus software, I can confirm sextile's findings.

It does seem a pity that this board is becoming like certain others, where cheap put-downs are the norm.

Using Google Chrome, I also get a warning....from Google.

When I try by using Internet Explorer 8 and AVG antivirus (the same antivirus Sextile uses), I get a warning, too.

But, when I tried the first time (after reading Sextile's post) by using Mozilla Thunderbird and AVG antivirus, I didn't get a warning. Now, when I try with that same combination 24 hours later, I do get a warning.

I didn't find Sextile's put-down to be cheap, though it could be described as snide.

His earlier suggestion that I was misusing "herd" in a common expression might have been described as unnecessary & pointless, especially since it only illustrated his lack of familiarity with a fairly well-known analogy, but I'm sure his intentions were motivated by the abundance of the milk of human kindness for which he is so well regarded.

My anti-virus software announced that there was a Trojan, but that it had removed it ... thus my explanation that a quality Anti-Viral offers protection and does not just flash warnings. If that's a cheap put-down, I'm ap*ll*d.

I certainly hope the lively nature of our exchange using all sorts of words in the English language doesn't discourage either Billy or Scoops from continuing to make more of their usual informative posts!
