Offing boys at the Lavender Lanna in Chiang Mai?

Since the hotel advertizes that its gay-friendly staff is open to sit with guests, is it acceptable to off them to the room upstairs? Or would such solicitation be considered rude?

Is it acceptable to off boys from the Power Boys shows at the basement? How much would be the rate?

Could anyone who's stayed there share explicit info?

Thanks

I have stayed there and enjoyed myself immensely. Any willing staff can be offed to your room apparently. But it is not like Malaysia Hotel with street boys milling around the lobby. The non-go-go/non-massage staff are good at their jobs..mostly..and generally very attractive, friendly, professional and not sluts by any means. I did not off any but was told it is normal to do so...they seemed so pleasant and wholesome...I didn't want to commercialize them;)...as long as I had enough cute massage and go-go boys available. When I was there, some of the go-go and massage boys were swimming and relaxing around the pool in the afternoon and mixing with the guests and obviously available to whip upstairs for a quickie at about Bht300 off fee. I didn't actually off any to my room as I used the massage facilities mostly for sex. One massage boy did slip up after work for a good-night quickie and I gave him Bht1,000 so he could take care of the off and cover his tip.
For the massage boys, the off is the cost of the massage.
The massage rooms are the same as some of the guest rooms...assuming you don't want to take to your room.
One thing you may want to do if you are new to Chiang Mai, is use one of the go-go boys during the day as a tour guide...they all seem to be locals.
They have an efficient and professional tour desk in the lobby and can arrange gay/straight tours day or night.
This hotel is quite unique...in my view...not flamboyant and not slutty and no fancy prices...a good balance! Many families with kids were staying there when I was there. Rooms now double the introductory price when I was there but still worth it.

I have bizarre memories of a breakfast at the former Sri Tokyo hotel. We stopped for brekky on our way to Doi Intanon. It took them 2 hours to bring toast, eggs, juice and coffee. What a circus. Some guests were cooking their own food in the kitchen. a cat was eating from the finished plates and at one time we saw the waiters driving off to buy bread. Most entertaining ONCE ONLY. I am sure this reinvention will do better!

Yannawa, some follow-up questions

Thanks for the info.

1) If you can off someone for a 300 bht quickie, why did you pay a massuere 1000 bht after he finished work?

2) Is their English good enough to be tour guides?

3) How about taking someone as a massuere+driver+guide for week's travel through north Thailand? If I consult the desk will they keep the money for themselves, or is it better to look around among the boys by myself?

12is12, I think Firecat answered some of your questions in his post/update. But I will also add what I know:
1) I paid the boy Bht1,000 because I liked him...and as far as it is possible to be sure of these things, he seemed to like me. He was worried/concerned about being upstairs without an official offing having been paid so I thought let him sort that out and gave him Bht300 for the off and 700 for cumming on the bed head and me. It was after his working time, but as I had arranged the meeting when he was working and had the sex in the building where he worked, I felt it was reasonable to pay the off anyway....also I had no change!!

2) I doubt that any of the massage or go-go boys have good enough English to be stand-alone tour guides...but what the hell, a little English is good enough and the boy will be thrilled to be out and about, having the chance to practice his English and earn a bit of cash at the same time. Get him to take you to the fantastic Maisa elephant camp. There is another more commercial one, but the Maisa one is the most natural and has a great show and you have the chance to wander around the training and nursery areas. Some of the waiters and receptionists will certainly have enough English to act as a guide.

3) I doubt that you will find any go-go or massage boys with a car driving license and I believe they have to be over 25 if you want them to drive a rental car...Budget is excellent and cheap for car rental. But I would ask the tour desk as they seem to be interested in doing good for their customers and would advise you on things like this. Also I doubt you would find a go-go or massage boy with much knowledge of the rest of northern Thailand. But ask the tour desk..if anyone will know, they will. I would be your perfect candidate...Thai driving license, over 25 and know northern Thailand very well, but my massage skills, nationality, sexual prowess and looks, may not meet your expectations:D

WOW, Yannawa

Thank you for a great answer. As a newbie, I'm really not used to getting such helpful advice from total strangers.

And I really liked your...creative ending. If you're still there and chance upon suitable candidates, please let me know.

Thanks again.

Unfortunately I am now back in Bangkok, but next week I shall go there again and check for suitable tour guides among the staff.

Chiang mai reports

1. Can any current /recent visitors to CM share some comments on Adams Apple, please.

2. Regarding car ental, suggest don't use any 'hole in the wall' outfits, CM has it's share of rigur rental operators who will not hesitate to falsely accuse you of damaging the car. Worth it to rent through Budget or through your hotel.

How is the actual situation in the Lavender hotel. I ask because somewhere I read the owner passed away (he committed suicide?). Begin march I will be in Thailand and may be I want to go to Chiang Mai...

offing boys at the Lavender Lanna in Chang Mai

I am also thinking of going to the hotel in March. I do not know what to do . It is still advertising but after the owner's suicide there have been rumours on the boards that it is about to close.

I have sent an email to hotel to see if they are open and have got no reply.

Any news would be very much appreciated. I do not want to book and then find that it closes down before I go.

I have a booking to stay at the Lavender Lanna hotel during March.
I made the booking a month or more ago.

I also would be very interested on any information about the current situation at the hotel, and what may happen in the future.

still seeing ads mean nothing-these are mostly bought for 6 or 12 monthes-at a discount. One often sees places closed a few monthes ago still advertising-its been paid for after all.
