I know that it is much better than in 2000 when I went with a Thai friend (newly diagnosed with HIV) to the Red Cross clinic-the nurse joked that one option would be to take Baygon (insect poison)!!
Bangkok Christian was not any better-the young women at the triage centre giggled, pointed and laughed when my friend presented the prescription.
It is always sobering to go to Red Cross or HIVNAT to see the large number of guys who are positive. Usually, some recognisable faces from venues in Silom.

- Even though free testing is available, and there are medications to prolong sufferers' active and useful lives yet [B]SAFE SEX[/b] is important and should still be followed and observed every time that we enjoy sex.

Agreed. Even in Australia the rate of HIV continues to increase. New cases this year are the highest for 20 years :(

- Maybe nowadays it's only the oldies who saw the disease decimate their friends who remain careful practitioners of SAFE SEX?
