The Prince "Remodeled"

The Prince cinema was closed for a while in mid-October and recently reopened. They have removed the first 10 or so rows from the back and all the rows in the front, leaving only a middle section of (sorry to say, the same) seats divided by the aisle and a LOT of open space. Not sure if this is in preparation for closing or an "upgrade", as they seem to have done some roof repairs at the same time.

I think (hope) the new layout may be a bit more conducive to action, as everyone is now concentrated in one section, although the feel is a lot more open and there is more light. The two times I have been post-renovation, there was fun to be had, although not a lot.

Yesterday (Tuesday Nov. 1) at 1:15pm, it was closed again, so not sure if the remodel is the end or a new beginning.

all suck cinemas i knew in BKK where rows of chairs have been taken out were closed down - also given the prime location of Prince I think they will close sooner than later :(

-- THE PRINCE CINEMA. is on Crown-Properties' Bureau's lands, I believe - thus owner's reluctance to spend too much money on maint'ce. etc. etc..
- But access to it, from Charoen Krung - the main rd. - is along a small passage-way; but possibly MORE accessible from the rear? ;)

When the CPB tears down the entire block, the problem of narrow access will be a moot point. I'm sure that is what will happen sooner or later. So, get your sucks in now.
