Why do Thais like white men?
 

It has been very quiet here for a while so I thought I might ask a question that will hopefully spark things up. Here it is

Why to Thais (and other Asians like white guys? Is is all about money? Do they like the bigger cocks that most white guys have?

Hmmm... how about "misguided aspiration"

"Aspiration" because they consider all things western to be bigger and better - possibly leading to the start of a better life.

"Misguided" because in many ways their spiritual and ethical values are superior to Westerners, they just don't know it!

.... and of course most us us do have bigger dicks :)

I think the "white man" fixation is dwindling rapidly.

In my opinion, the fixation on first-worlders (ie., Westerners) tends to be present in second and third-world cultures with inferiority complexes.

As Thailand develops, that inferiority complex is quickly dissipating.

If you want to find the phenomenon in full bloom, there are still places like the Philippines, the PRC, Vietnam, etc.

Most Asians are not into white men, just as most Caucasians are not into Asians. On the other hand, many people don't have ethnically preferences.

Social status is the key
 

Both from my own experience and from what I have been told by my Thai teacher, my friends, and countless Thai boys, the attraction is mainly about the social uplift that apparently comes when a Thai person attains financial security through relationships with farangs or otherwise. However, Thais apparently also admire pale skin (they do not understand why white people are always trying to get a tan), and have a fascination with the shape of our noses (many Thai guys get nose jobs to remove the flatness), but I believe these are secondary attractions. I have found that cocksize can be as much a turn off as a turn on because of concerns about painful intercourse.

Agree that this is all a matter of social status -- get a white person and your social status is lifted because a white person is supposed to be rich, educated, knowledgeable about the world, etc. With this social status comes automatically many other benefits such as being able to travel the world (or at least to the country of the partner), your family's financial debts get settled, your brothers & sisters (and of course you yourself) get an education, and you get to enjoy the relative "high life" such as eating at a restaurant, buy branded clothes and gadgets (smart-phone, etc.), and travel by plane to go on a holiday to Phuket, Samui, Penang, etc -- wherever your white boyfriend wants to go for holiday. In this scheme of things, looks and age do not matter.

But many Thais are not attracted to white men. Thais love to be white and are attracted to white skin. But this does not automatically mean they go for Caucasians. Many go for the Chinese Thais, or if they're a bit more adventurous foreigners of East Asian extraction. This, I think, will be increasingly the trend as East Asians continue to rise on the world stage.

Agree that size of cock can be a put on or put off. Anal activity is not that popular among Thai gays, and many refuse to be penetrated if they see a huge cock.

that's probably correct for lower class Thais, but if you move with middle and upper class Thais then most depends on character and personality of the farang. While you can see well to do Thais in soi2, there are many other places that do not rely on farangs. Educated Thais for the most part don't worry about farangs at all and certainly do not go after payment or gifts as above.
