So how best to post a pic in personal thread?

First, go to the 'help' page -- located in the upper right corner of this page, just underneath the big box of ads. Click it and then go to this topic:

"Are there any special codes/tags I can use to format my posts and messages?"

That tells you how to use the image tag to include a picture in a posting.
