would be nice to:
* be able to see who is actually online(as opposed to last signed on) in an area
* be able to see those 'alive' vs those who last signed on years ago, or only on one day a long time ago.

This Message Board software is even older than the Sex Listings software, and it needs to be updated too.

I always thought the biggest problem was the large number of "Guest" users included, since you they aren't members, don't have profiles, and you can't contact them.

I wasn't aware that the list included people who last signed on years ago. The suggestion to see who is online in an area is a good one, although members often enter their location on their profile in different ways, sometimes more than one town, sometimes abbreviations, etc. It would be nice at least to sort the list by country, state, and city, but it doesn't even have that capability.

I'll have to research what the newer version of this software provides, since that should be the easiest path to upgrade. Currently I'm focusing on the Sex Listings upgrade.

The guests are fine, they don't get in the way when looking for someone. When looking at "who's online", it shows when they logged on (and area), but most are not actually online anymore. As it sorts by name, it's a hunt to find someone actually online.
The member lists though you have to plow slowly through profiles & actually read individually to find where they are (if stated) and note they may have not logged on in over a decade, (think I saw some last on from the last century?) (I was only looking at ones from my region, and although there were many profiles, only a handful indicated their last activity was within a couple years.

I found some settings in the Admin Section for the Message Board which affect the "timeout" for the Online Page and also how long someone shows as online after being inactive. I also found a setting to not include the Guests in the Online Page.

We'll see if this helps. It may take a day or so for the "timeout" change to work through.

I decided to turn back on the switch to include "Guests," because the list was so short it looked like no one was on the site.
