Tawan go-go bar-Are the hunks not so nice and expensive?
 

Hello to all you dudes out there.

I would lite visit Tawan go-go bar during my next trip to Bangkok in June this year.

I have read the following from www.dreadedned.com

Usually popular bar specialising in musclemen dancers. Special muscleman and other shows nightly. Reportedly some of the guys think they are so great they can demand high prices for little service, but the regulars insist this is still one of the best bars.

I would like to know if the above is true. Does anybody know if it is expensive to take a muscle boy back to the hotel?
I would also love to hear from any of you guys out there that has been to Tawan.
Comments (positive or negative) about Tawan from other members of this board would also be nice.

Can somebody also provide a rough idea as to the amount of money one should give a guy from a go-go bar for coming to your hotel for a night of hot sex?

The boys do NOT set the price. The customer does. And the rate is pretty much the same whatever bar they come from:

1,000 to 1,500 baht short time
1,500 to 2,000 baht all night

Less if you're not happy, more if you're over-the-moon.

If a boy tries to demand or set a rate, or tries to suggest that "XXX Bar boys are more expensive", give him a pass.

I am not keen on muscle guys, but did visit Tawan with a Thai who likes muscle...and he did not off a guy from there...mainly I think because the selection was not that good and some of them were overweight and out of shape. Some were clearly not gay and did not show any enthusiasm. Up2 bar, has some muscle guys but limited number..however, because they get fewer customers, the guys seem a little more willing. Also Jupiter seems to have more muscle guys than other places.

I guess you have to define muscles because most of them have muscles i.e. nice pecks however that same person might not have a six pack.

So if you are picky you might not find what you are looking for in Tawan. But if you want some bulging muscles I guess most of the men there would have them though on the worse case those same person might be slightly fat. That is to say they have buldging muscle but not bodybuilder's defined muscle.

I don't know why I read on boards about men there being overwieght. When I went there last month, didn't see such a thing. Although there are some very young men there that are not that muscled though - but I certainly won't say they are fat.

The one thing I like though is the boys attitude. They are not pushy, the most they would do is go to your seat and have some smalltalk.

As for Up2 bar, when I went there, there were only 2 who i considered as muscle men. But worse, there were only 2 customers there so they did not have a show.

Having been to Tawan a couple of weeks ago I can confirm that there are one or two gents who, shall we say, really ought not to be on stage.

There is a sign on the door now (in Thai) which says that women are not allowed. I wonder whey they decided to do this?

7 day holiday in China, but I don't know if this is the same in Japan. I am sure you will meet a lot of Chinese visitors in BKK, likewise in Hong Kong.

hope you're okay after the colonoscopy ordeal. anyway i share your view that tawan still has the best muscles around. and the bad press about it just seems to be overblown.

i've been told about up2, future boys and such but find them to be just okay. 1 or 2 big boys around that the rest are the ordinary boys.

btw what number is your fave in tawan? can you share what transpired on the last muscle competition in tawan

I can agree with all the bad press about Tawan. The owner is a nice enough guy but the boys there...well..I have been visiting every year since 1995 and only once have I had a good experience. Two relatively pleasant experiences and the rest were nightmares. I keep going back every year cuz I like muscle and keep hoping that I'll meet a nice guy again but I didn't off anyone the second night I was there this year cuz the first night sucked and I didn't feel like wasting more money.
I guess it could be partly my fault since I never complained to the owner tho I have seen postings here which say that it doesn't do any good.
I hate to say it but I can't help feeling that it serves them right if they're not getting the kind of business they should if their boys are not going to get rid of their bad attitudes.

One of my boyfriends in Pattaya told me an Austrailan man gave him 60000Baht for olny short period. I have never heard about Japanese spending such amount for one boy.

As to Tawan boys, when my Japanese friend offed boys last May, mamasan told him to give 3000 to a certain boy, 2000 to another for short time. So I guess Tawan is the only bar we cannot set a rate.

I was interested to see wowpow's comments on Tawan. I visited the same night as he did and saw the 10.30 show, which was pretty basic, though included "some nudity".
It was fairly quiet at the bar, and the guys looked very bored. One I talk to when I visit said customers were coming to see the show, but not taking boys off so much.
I think Tawan muscle is liked by some people and not others, I usually find some of the guys attractive and others a bit bulky and not toned. But my friends who accompanied me really like the guys at Tawan.
I have always thought however that the attempts by some at Tawan to get a higher than market price off-putting. No doubt when they ask for 2000/3000 baht for a short time, it may be why they do not get taken off.

I also went to Jupiter the same night, and it just proves we all can have different tastes. I got there at the end of the show, so cannot comment, but surprisingly not one of their boys were of interest for me, the airconditioning was lousy, and the space for customers restricted.

I don't often go to Tawan. Hormone beefcakes aren't really my type, and I often get the impression from the boys' approaches, like others have said, that the guys at Tawan generally expect 2000B or more.

Yet, I have off'ed two guys from Tawan, the first 2-3 years ago, and the second, only last December. In both cases, I selected the relatively more "normal", though still quite muscular hosts. Unlike the other bars, I felt it safer to negotiate the price beforehand. While I don't recall how much I paid the first one, the second was quite happy for 1500 (and I don't think I paid more for the first one, else I would certainly have remembered it).

The 1500 baht guy was quite pleasant and made a good effort to please. I'd say I got value for money.

The first guy was memorable for another reason: you'd think that all these straight hunks have to be top if they do any anal at all, but the one I found, to my surprise when we were halfway through the proceedings, was a bottom. He got quite hard when penetrated.

These guys are "switched on". I cannot understand why guys agree 2000 and more and the story about 60000 bht that's is certainly a bit much. However, as stated by the guy who says "agree a fee before hand" and if they are better in bed then give them more, I actually do that and it works. Im actually into scat and I agree a fee if they can do the honours. I met a guy in Pattaya, and he certainly did the honours, if he could give me a "load" then he would get more, I certainly got the load, he was actually farting up the stairs to the hotel, he was that desperate to go the toilet. I gave him 1,500 bht

i was never given the asking price of 2k the highest i was asked for was 1.5k. i also had one experience where i had to haggle down the price. it turned out it was a good call as it turns out that the boy cannot come because he has to play soccer/football 2morow. but it was okay we had some fun.

abel, humm care to share what number is the bottom guy. don't need to give name - i am very poor at names will easily forget who it was in 5 minutes.

there was a message somewhere in the boards that the prices for the boys goes with the demands so if it is lean season it would be lower than the peak season (tourist season). does it also apply to when to off the boy like more expensive when the club opens at 8pm and less expensive when the club is about to close around midnite?

i usually go to the clubs at midnite so don't know if the price varies. any comments.

orson - it's been a few years, and the last few times I've been to Tawan, the bottom hunk was nowhere to be seen. Even if I could remember name or number, it wouldn't be any help. Sorry ....

Green eyes: Im not going into detail of what I do with the shit or how he does it - but I enjoy it - with regard to asking them before hand, it is a bit tricky sometimes, but strangely enough I havent done it that many times, and on the times that they have said yes, then we get back to the hotel and the "natural function" does not occur. But if you think about it, they basically do anything that pleases you (for money of course) and dont blink an eye at it - and of course as long as it is safe. Where I do have the problem is if I pick up a non-rent guy (and yes there are some), and ask them to shit on me, then that can cause a problem, well not a problem, they just dont like to. Another problem could have occurred with the western owner of a boy bar, in that he didnt want guys like me in his bar (by that comment was via an email). My answer to that is providing a person is conducting safe sex and not doing anything illegal, and its mutual then there is no problem. Roll on my next visit to Thailand for a nice cute guy to dump on me - hehehehe - do you know anyone?

Whitedesire - I'm a big believer in "each to his own..", and what you do behind closed doors is entirely your business (so to speak). However, as a matter of interest, does anyone know what SCAT means? Do the letters form an acronym or is it just a new word to describe this particular activity? I went to Tawan tonight and thought it was quite busy (considering some of the anti-Tawan posts there have been here). However I can see why there have been a number of unflattering posts about some of the boys (men) there. Less than a quarter of them were smiling at the audience, a lot seemed overweight and well over the age for selling themselves and one (No.56 - a fat, ugly, unpleasant slob) was pointing at customers and making rude jestures to his friends on stage about the clientelle. The owner was nowhere to be seen.
Yes, there were a few very attractive guys there but in general most are well past their prime(into their 30's I guess)and should consider going back to the farm.
I remember when nearly all of them might have been candidates for taking off by me - tonight I saw only about 4 who I would consider. Eventually I left alone and went to Boys Bangkok and went off with a very nice, well hung young man who delivered the goods (as promised)for 1200Baht.

Though I haven't been to Bangkok for a couple of years, Tawan has always been my bar of choice. I go for the beefier type, and age is not a concerrn, nor is being fat (in a muscular sort of way). In fact I would be quite happy to 'off' an older guy, and I do hope that there will be enough demand to keep them in business. My main concerns with Tawan were that some of the guys are jaded and worldly-wise; many are not gay and therefore not very enthusiastic. In my experience they do try to charge more too. But if you're into muscle-worship. go for it.

Interesting definitions for scat. I guess it's possible that there is where 'scatterbrained' comes from.

Personally given the rather "tired" muscle at Tawan, I think you are better off somewhere like Albury, where there are some guys with good toned muscle, and some quite hunky.
I went to Boys Bangkok on Friday, and there were some attractive guys there.
Maybe less hunky than Tawan but with more smiles. However at around midnight the bar had only 20 customers and the boys tell me business has been really slow.

Another 2-bits worth....I've had a couple of the older guys from Tawan and one was quite a nice guy while the other seemed to think that it was my privilege to worship at his feet...since I am not particularly interested in a guy's age and am more interested in whether he has enough muscle and a nice enough body to pique my interest, I think that Tawan is unique in the sense that it is still the only place where beefier guys and especially more matured beefier ones can be found...not all of us are into lamb all the time.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that if you haven't been to Tawan before, then its best to go after midnite...my happiest encounters there occured when I waited until almost closing time to off the guys...they were more desperate to earn their keep and to please me.

This makes me sound terribly jaded and calculative and heartless I know, but I have found that its the only way to deal with the Tawan Temperament...I coined this after my fifth trip there and I think it describes their problem in its entirety.

Just one last bit...I still go there and I still off guys from there...only I am more careful and a helluvalot less of a nice guy until I am satisfied that I am not going to experience another Tawan Trauma!

I visited Tawan twice during my last trip to Thailand. I simply don't like this bar at all. Why? Because........
1. Boys have Muscles but have Ugly faces
2. Boys don't perform as agreed upon
3. The normal rates in Bangkok doesn't apply to Tawan boys.
4. For any extra liitle performance they want more money.
5. Most of the boys are older(more than 35) than what they say.
