Sadly, bulletin-boards have largely been pushed aside by "catalog" hookup sites, craigslist, and the general decline of sociable interaction online or IRL. Lots of people are also really busy trying to make ends meet so there's less time for hanging out. Eventually, the pendulum will swing back the other way.

Posted via Mobile Device yes just as the internet destroyed bulletin boards, social media networking trumps internet... times are financially tough... no one trusts each other (sadly justifiable in some situations), to include those closest to them without fear of being betrayed... and people are more insular and isolated and lacking in the social graces in all arenas because of it despite being more interconnected than ever due to technology... 1984? End of days? 2012? Its all much the same thing, which derives from the same sin: fear.
