Based on my knowledge, its not true that under normal situation the Tawan guys and staff will ignore a customer. That's complete bullshit.

The only exception is if the customer has been known to mistreat a Tawan guy or being an unreasonable person, like not paying after sex for example.

i think there are times when a guy working there would suddenly have an attitude and the other boys would rather ignore the incident/change topic than try to explain to customer that his colleague is an ass. i guess this may have something to do with the "face" thing.

the only time when i found the service staff to be ignoring customers is when it is a full house. otherwise they are pretty prompt on their service. a conversation though might be a challenge for some as english would be a challenge for them.

there are first hand accounts i heard from the working men themselves though. like the time a customer bit this guy's nips and his knee jerk reaction could have been considered as assault here in the US. then there's a time when a caucasian customer expected that the 400bht off fee was the only fee he needs to pay. good thing that was cleared up before they went out of the bar.

tawan has always been a hands off kind of bar. don't expect the guy to come over to your table unless he was last night's off. some times even eye contact does not do it. you have to ask the wait staff to ask the guy to go to your table. and yes even though it happens once in a blue moon. sometimes the guys for unexplained reason will reject that request.

Def of "Rejection": When the whores turn you down...

It is a bit of a blow to the ego when you are turned down by a gogo boy who's sole purpose there IS to go with customers...

It has happened to me once at Tawan a couple of years ago....

I was there on holiday and I wanted to try someone new for a change. The staff and regular guys I knew always sat and chatted with me, so it was hard to 'break free' and talk alone to someone new.

I saw a guy in the show the night before suck like a Hoover and I thought he would be a good choice (#30 for anyone counting).

I excused myself form my small group and went to the bathroom. On the way, I said to Mr Pan I was interested in #30. He immediately introduced me. Chit chat was not forth-coming although he spoke good English. I suggested we go for 'massage' after show. He half looked away and mumbled something.. I asked if he was in the show and had to get ready. He mumbled something else and drifted away.

??

I went back to my seat with the regular boys and staff a little confused. It was a bit humiliating, so I paid my bill and left.

I went to a 'normal' massage place on Silom, but got a weedy little twink that kept checking his mobile and massaged as if he was pettng a cat.

I started to think about what had happened at Tawan and started to get angry. 'How DARE he!!' etc. etc .

It was approaching midnight. I decided to go back to Tawan and get someone, anyone for a massage to 1). get back on the horse and not loose my mojo 2). I REALLY wanted to get off by that stage.

Walking back to Tawan was one of the heaviest rains I have ever seen. I was drenched. I got to the door of Tawan and the staff were surprised, but glad to see me again. The boys were mainly streached out on the couch waiting the clock down to knock-off time.

I said to Mr Pan I just wanted a massage with anyone. He said he would get #30 because I showed intrest earlier. I said no, #30 didn't seem interested to go with me. Mr Pan said he would MAKE him go with me and appeared angry that one of the boys had treated me that way.

I screamed "NO!!". I couldn't think of anything worse than being in a hotel room with #30 after he had been 'made' to go with me, and try and have some fun.
I said anyone that wanted to go with me at this last minute, I was just staying over at Le Merridien.

Mr Pan came out with Siam. He said 'How about him?". I asked Siam if he was happy to go to hotel for massage and he said yes, so off we went into the torrential rain across the street to the hotel.

We squelched through the lobby, and were so drenched that we both had to strip off at entrance of my room when we got in.

Siam spoke virtually no English, and he had never seen me before, but he gave me a good massage and we both got our rocks off and then he was into the shower and away. B2000; job done.

We didn't really connect that well so i have never offed him again, but EVERY time I go to Tawan, even after 2 yrs, he pops over and gives me a big smile and says hello and keeps walking. No problems.

Given my experience with him, I can't imagine he would be the type to be rude and condescending to a customer.

The guy in the picture above though.... It is true that the Tawan boys will not speak badly of other guys working there, but if you read between the lines, I think this one is a bit of a tool. I've never had anything to do with him ; and he struts around with an aloof arogance. He sort of embodies everything people criticise Tawan guys for. But that is just my impression from watching him and some comments other guys have made.

My experience with #30 made me realise that you really do need to have some spark of connection with the guy on some level for it to be an enjoyable encounter for both of you. I now stick to my regulars. They know me; I know them; and we genuinely like each other and are comfortable with each other.

Fuck #30! No thank you. Not now.

The guy in the picture above... his name is Chai, well from the surface, he does put on that arrogant attitude, but once you get to know him.. he's a real cutie and charming..

yes, i offed him once (no superstars that night and he was the only guy with the rocking body left)

well... he is nice, cheeky and a gentleman (shock!!). I had a good time with him.. so, he's not all that bad as what people think...

I'm sorry that it happened to your friend.. quite puzzled why they treated him that way... maybe there's a story that we don't know here...

Well there you go. I stand corrected. I'm glad he's a nice guy. It goes to show that the guys , particularly at Tawan, can be quite different alone with a customer than how they appear at the bar. It makes sense that they would t last too long if they were complete ass holes ( no pun intended).

orson, Jizz-wizz and xiluzer
Thank you for your comment.

What happened to my friend was awful. But he was ok, and enjoyed at another place after that.

I have to say this, these is a person who just wants to disagree with my experience, or what I saw and heard. I know some customers are too crazy about Tawan, don't wanna hear any negative comments. When I post something, almost every time the person says like, ''that's not true! It must be a mistake!'' etc etc. also says my stories or experiences are lies. What the hell? The person or those kinds of people are out of control.

I'm not a customer who doesn't pay or treats boys as bad. I do know Tawan and boys. But unfortunately disappointment things would happen sometimes. I can not control with that.

I will continue to post about my story and experience. So if someone doesn't like my post, PLEASE ignore it and do not PM me.
I really don't think here that you can post only positive things. And I'm not trying to let people down about Tawan. I'm just being realistic. Also I don't want anyone attack me or argue with me some sort of way.

Thanks,

In case you still haven't gotten the message, the boys aren't in indentured slavery - while they are suppose to serve customers, it does not give you the right to treat them as goods.

Your attitude is reflected in your body language and speech - is there a wonder why certain parties would feel less than enamoured with you?

Same goes for the poster above you. 400 baht all in? Really? That's like $10+ USD.

And you expect to be treated with decency when you're not extending the same courtesy?

I say fuck you with a push into incoming traffic.

TAWAN CLUB - drinks' prices ...

-- Today, Christmas Day, morning I walked past the ent'ce. to the TAWAN CLUB - Soi Than Tawan, off Suriwong rd. and noted that the posted price of drinks is now 350.oo.Bh.! (let's write that that's approx. GBP.07.oo. or USD.11.40.),
- Worth visiting at that price? "Je m'en doute.".

Or put it another way, I guess your expecting that the working boys should be ultra positive / super smiling, every minute of every day - smile / happy robots. Grow up, ever heard of human rights???
