Thumbs down Times Square - Cruiser Alert

Be very careful at the Times Square gloryholes. I have been there over the last couple of days and the guards have been very active checking for people who they consider spend too long in the cubicles. Also, guards are checking under stall doors trying to determine how many people are in a stall. Do not, under any circumstances, go into a stall with another person. This is extremely risky behaviour. Yesterday, I was sitting in the last stall on the toilets behind Asia Books. I heard a guard come in and announce that people should immediately flush and come out of the cubicles. The guy next to my cubicle quickly collected himself and was out like a shot. I ignored the guy, half hoping he would go away and not wanting to be terrorized for sitting on the toilet minding my own business. A few minutes later, someone starts banging loudly on my stall dorr telling me to come out. I waited for a few seconds then stormed out in a huff. There were three security guards (one in brown and two in blue) and two cleaning ladies. I thought I would throw them off balance first so I started speaking to then in English - what are you doing, what's going on, what's your problem stuff. Clearly flustered by this slightly annoyed farang, them were mumbling about water leakage. I then switched to Thai and told them that there was nothing wrong with the toilet and that to bang on a toilet door like that was extremely bad manners. I asked them if they wanted to lose their jobs. I then told them to leave me alone and get out of the bathroom immediately. I had detected a weakness in their resolve and knew that I had done nothing wrong. Predictably, the all fled from the bathrom and I went back into the toilet. This was an extremely unpleasant situation and I waited for a few minutes before leaving. None of the guards were anywhere to be seen. I think I was quite lucky that they were frightened by me and my indignation. Otherwise, I might have found myself in trouble. I'm sure if they were cops the situation could have been different. In any event, I would never have spoken to a cop the way I spoke to them.

So, fellow cruisers, be warned. Times Square is a risk at the moemnt. The guards and cleaners are clearly onto what is going on. For now, in terms of glory holes, Seri is much better. Never seen a guard causing any trouble out there.

Take care,
BB
