I had no idea when I was in my 20's ( or even my teens ) that I was wanted. Only on the rare occasion ( non of which were conducive to any activity ) did I ever get a proposition.
In general, I think that confidence, no matter what the age, goes a long way to getting exactly what you're looking for.
