just came back from two really nice weeks in Thailand so I thought I'd let you know my experiences.

My first objective was to find a really nice place for non sexual massage with male masseurs and a really good massage.
Secondly I wanted to check out some of the saunas and cruising places I have read about here.

Massage Experiences

Pranee Massage (above Boots at Sala Daeng)
Went there twice. First time just for foot massage which was nice.
Second time I opted for a 90 minutes oil massage which was also very nice. At some point the masseur started to jerk me off and I let him after he asked if he should continue. The experience was unpleasent for me because he went very mechanically about it. He asked for a 1000 baht tip which I thought was a little much but paid nontheless.
I decided that now that I had tried it this would be my first and last massage including a happy ending :-)
But I don't mean to put this place down. The massage was actually quite good.

Time Health and Spa (a 10 minute taxi ride from chatuchak BTS but kind of difficult to find)
I found their website and they advertise as the first real 'male only' spa in Asia. Unfortunately no prices where given on the homepage. But since my boyfriend and I were looking for a nice spa and the pictures looked really nice we decided to check it out.
Wow they are expensive. We paid 2000 each for one of their packages which included a massage a body scrub and a milk bath.
The massage rooms looked far less impressive than on the website and the bathroom was a dump and they need some serious work on their pipes (not a pun). Took forever for the water to go down or the whirlpool to fill.
While my massage was excellent, my boyfriend didnt like it at all. His guy went for his dick after only a short and bad massage.
Since my boyfriend speaks thai he asked what this was all about and was told that this was a sex place and asked what we had expected this to be.
My masseur tried to jerk my off in the tub but I didn't let him.
I was kind of surprised because I actually didnt think this was a sex place because the price for the massage was too high and also we didnt get to choose our masseurs.
So I cannot recommend this place at all. It's totally overpriced and too far out. I think if you want a sex massage there must be plenty of other places less expensive and closer.

Health Land (Sathorn between Sois 10 and 12)
Went there twice but never got a massage. Not a drop in place. You need to have an appointment if you don't like to wait forever.
I decided not to wait although the place looked kind of nice.
It is in walkable distance from surasak or chong nonsi bts stations but after I walked there from surasak I decided to take a taxi next time :-) I will make an appointment there next time I am in Bangkok.

Wat Po (the non aircon place on the temple grounds)
Wow! The best traditional Thai massage I ever had. Although a little packed with tourist lined up on next to each other this was really a perfect massage.
The traditional massages I had tried before were always a bit of a fight between me and the masseur.
This one was really relaxing. They really know exactly how far to go without causing you pain and still have an effect.
It's still not a soft massage but if you had a traditional massage somewhere else before and thought is was too much you will be fine here.


Sauna Experiences

Believe it or not I had never been to a gay sauna before so I decided to try it out. However I do like to go to normal saunas.

Babylon (Sathorn)
Said to be to be the best in the world so I went there first.
Well it's a nice place for sure but I felt misplaced. It was just not what I had expected.
First of all I could not believe how many people where actually wearing swim/underwear under their towels.
I am from Germany and we basically run around naked in a sauna or wear the towel only while moving between the different sections.
It all felt more like a gay resort kind of thing. I had the feeling it was more about see and be seen than actual cruising. Also I didn't like the guys much. Most of the cuter Thai guys looked like money boys to me. The other asians seemed to be a little 'sticky'.
My boyfriend who was looking for a farang obviously was deeply disappointed and I can honestly say that except for two spanish muscle guys I was the youngest and best in shape white guy there (and if you saw me you would know how big of a laugh that is)
The actual cruising places are too dark and there is no action. Everybody is just standing around. I wasn't impressed.
Since we didn't feel like eating dinner there (too cold in the restaurant for people in towels) we just had a few drinks on the terrace and left.

GSM Sauna (Chinatown)
After the boring Babylon experience we decided to check this place out.
Wow. While not as luxurious as Babylon this place was MUCH more fun. It was much cruisier and I liked the way it is built. The whole thing is sort of a little maze.
I especially liked the roof top garden. Although there were much less people there than at Babylon I had the feeling that these guys were actually interested in getting some action.
The guys range from young and cute to REALLY old (80ies). We had a cute korean guy follow us around for a while so after checking each other out in the shower room (more light) we pulled him into one of the cubicles in the roof top garden.
While that was fun we were soon joined by some rather unattractive fellows who did leave when we said 'sorry/mae ow' to them but they became a distraction so we moved to a room with a door in the dark room which was not that dark.
The fun continued there for a while but there were many guys watching over the wall and to ruin our mood they started talking (commenting?).
So we stopped what we were doing and went out. The korean guy wanted to come back to our hotel but we decided to leave it at that.
So while this place was really nice it was kind of difficult to have undisturbed sex there. But I think I will give it a try again next time I am in BKK.
It was unbelievable how much attention we got. I was the only farang there and MANY guys (including the cute and young ones) gave me winks and claps on my butt :-) People were also actually naked under their towels :-))
My boyfriend is a very light skinned chinese and also very young and handsome so he almost had to run from the older chinese guys. He had hands all over him almost all the time. He did like the attention but he is into white muscle guys so this place was not really for him. He went back to Babylon the next day and actually got some action there which he described as 'we should have gone to the movies instead'

Cinema Experiences

I only checked out one cinema. The Pahol Yothin at saphan kwai BTS station.
I was boring to say the least. While it was actually pretty crowded there was no visible action. A lot of looking and walking around but no sex going on. And I was hoping to see some of that in the back rows.
Three major things that turned me off in this place.
1. WAY too dark. I do like to see guys faces before I do anything.
2. Smoke. A lot of smoking in the back rows and while good because it makes faces visible it was just too much for me.
3. I cannot get a hardon with one of the cheapest straight japanese porn movies playing and this schoolgirl who was vibrated in the most unattractive way squeaking like 10 pigs.

Cruising Experiences

Altough this was my 5th visit to BKK I have never paid much attention to how cruisy this city really is. This time I did. And boy you really don't need to do anything except look a little longer than usual.
I got some very direct looks and gestures in the Siam Discovery Center. Especially at habitat and that other furniture/home stuff place.
Standing in front of the elevator/bathroom for a few minutes will give you MANY opportunities.
Although it was most intense at Discovery it is really going on everywhere. Just stand around in MBK for a while and look at guys. It will not take long to find someone who is looking back.
Or stay in a toilet in MBK or Discovery for a while and you will see (as a shadow on the floor) and hear someone wanking off in the next cabin.
At discovery center just notice how many really cute guys hang out in front of the toilets and REALLY need to wash their hands often.
Although I never did anything (because I was usually carrying all those shopping bags for my boyfriend) it was a lot of fun to hang around. It got to a point where my boyfriend actually was jealous off all the attention I was getting and gave those guys who were looking at me his death stares :-)

Conclusion

If you are like me and prefer real gay guys (or horny straight guys) over the moneyboys from silom there are plenty of opportunities to get lucky.
I don't mean to say that the commercial scene is bad. Actually i like sitting on the telephone terrace and watching the show. So if that is your thing by all means go for it.
I just like it better without the monetary involvement because I'd rather have someone say no to me or ignore me completely rather than spending paid time with me. This way I also know that the guys I end up with actually likes me. So I can recommend GSM Sauna and the Discovery Center :-)
I definately want to check out other saunas but there just wasnt enough time on this trip.
On a side note I do enjoy going out in Ramkamhaeng Soi 89/2 much more than any of the silom places. I think it is very difficult to pick up someone there unless you are fluent in thai but it is just nice gay guys having fun and a very good atmosphere.
Soi Twighlight scares me :-)

So I hope this was at least a little helpful for the readers here who are planning their first trip to bkk. I hope I didn't bore the regulars to death :-)
