I'm not an expert but I don't think it is the rice. I suspet it is actually the copious amounts of lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and garlic used in Thai cuisine which gives Thai guys' bodies their distinctly delicate fragrance. After all, lemongrass candles do an effective job of keeping mosquitoes away.

Thai garlic is quite different. It is smaller and much sweeter than the Malaysian or Indian varieties. If you deepfry Thai garlic, it is less pungent and more crispy than the Malaysian kind, I have discovered.
