I think what NoomThai means is that he doesn't feel comfortable being blatant about it. As I understand from other "shy" friends, they'd rather sit quietly and wait to be approached than go out and seek partnes actively. I personally think of it as the "black widow spider technique" but there's nothing wrong with it and no stigma or judgement attached as far as I am concerned just because my personal preference is for a more direct approach.
