A lover at the time and I did the 4-day Carnival Cruise out of LA. Being an early riser I would hit the men's sauna in the mornings.
Met a couple gay guys there.
Our ship had a seperate men's and women's whirpool and showers off of the gym (the sauna in there too). We met a guy there and brought him back to our cabin for a "fun time". Lover also had another guy come onto him in that area .... then a guy stepped into the men's area, said a name, and that the guy's wife was ready for him. Turned out to be that guy. He left.
Most ship's deck plans can be viewed on the company's web site.
See if there is a men's steam, sauna, and showers. If there are men's and women's whirlpools or just one in the open where swimwear would be required.
You might want to bring along a rainbow cap or T-shirt .... that will let other gays know who you are.
Also check out the ship's photographs for sale. Viewing the pics will let you know which male travelers are traveling together. Most likely gay then.
