I took a taxie from Pinnacle Hotel to Pattaya for 1300 baht including expressway tolls. Stayed at Howards Guest House and Bar for 600 baht,
www.howards-pattaya.com. Room was large enough and very clean and has a safe. Includes breakfast but coffee/tea is 100 baht extra which is more than breakfasts at many good resturants. Howards is on Soi 17 which leeds to Sunnee Plaza concentration of bars.
Six to ten staff/bar boys hangout in the lobby and they insist on getting aquainted. Have fun, I did.
