Birmingham council revokes license of adult theater

Birmingham has ordered an adult theater and video store closed by 3 p.m. today and the mayor asked police tactical officers to be on standby to enforce the order.
The City Council unanimously approved the license revocation this morning.
Nearby businesses and residents have complained of lewd behavior in a nearby parking lot, as well as cruising and loitering by patrons.
The Screening Room has operated for 25 years at 2130 Second Ave. South, city officials said.
Fifteen people spoke before the council asking for the business to be closed. No representative of the Screening Room spoke.
