-- Visions, if not of scaling Mt. Everest, then at least of venturing into
terra incognita: the concrete jungle known as BANGKOK east of Sathorn!
'
East of Suez every man is a bachelor.' - but what would happen East of Sathorn, I asked myself?
- Thoughts of hiring guides from TAT. and bearers/porters
etc. from available TH .boyz flitted through my mind.
- Would the well-known '
L*n*ly Pl*n*t.' guides offer any help?
-- But having to go to the Immig'n. Bureau, Soi Suan Phlu, (aka. Sathorn 3.), for my usual
90 days. check-in, I resolved to be the intrepid and solo explorer.
- From the i'sect. Si Lom:Convent rds., ('C*L*F*RN** W*W!'. fitness cntr., Liberty Sq.. Nrest. BTS. Sala Daeng, [S2.],), walk along Convent rd., pass 'BNH.' on one's LHS. until one comes to the dual carriageway of Sathorn rd., (X-Ch. on one's LHS.),.
- Turn LEFT, (keeping X-Ch. on one's LHS.), and using the pedestrian bridge cross-over N. & S. Sathorn, descending the LEFT hand steps.
- On S. Sathorn walk against the tfc.-flow, (pass BAAN KENITRA REST'T.), on one's RHS. and after a few yds. turn RIGHT into Soi Suan Phlu, (aka. Sathorn 3.),.
- Cross-over the soi, turn RIGHT and walk along, (with the tfc.flow.), passing Sois
2 &
4. on one's LHS..
- At Suan Phlu
6 turn LEFT and walk along, (possibly an hundred or so yds.), until one will see the SS./chromium-plated initals '
GQ.' on one's RHS..
- One has arr'd.; total walking time LESS than
20mins..
-- The next even numbered soi -
soi 8. - will take one to 'BABYLON SAUNA.', wch. is located beyond the
'Pedestrians only.' passage-way the soi's farther end.
