I am not sure if you all referring to the same study. The one I mentioned in my original post concluded recruiting in January 2008. So not much time has passed since then for it to be reported again, again, and again. It was presented in the International AIDS conference this summer in Mexico city, not year or 2 ago. The size of sample was more than 1200. This is not a small sample for statistical purposes.
I guess we can always ignore facts if we did not like them. But this would be at our own risk/peril. You can ignore facts, they would not ignore you.
Here is a summary of the study design.
In the current study, a cohort of 1,292 Bangkok MSM was recruited, who will be followed at four monthly intervals over a three year period. Recruitment began in April 2006, and was completed by January 2008. Participants are all Thai nationals, male at birth, resident in the Bangkok area, aged 18 or over, and have had anal or oral sex with a man in the six months before recruitment. Participants were recruited from the sexual health clinic where follow up visits were conducted, through a web site, from a range of bars, saunas and parks used by MSM, and through community organisations.
